Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, February 27, 2018

Javier Baldovinos

Hello! How’s everyone doing today? After seeing how was Colorado and Panga Drops this weekend, I bet everyone is waiting for my report to see how Santana was working, right? Well, you don’t have to wait any longer, check it out!

The swell dropped a little bit but not the wind. There were some nice A-frame peaks but the wind was messing everything up… some waves were steep and fast, some others were slow and fat.

Javier Baldovinos

Here is a nice big, fat right that this guy let go. He had a longboard and he was having a lot of trouble to find the right waves to paddle. This one looked like a great option though.

Javier Baldovinos

He was having trouble not just find the right waves but also with the longboard…

Javier Baldovinos

Bad idea to try to do the duck dive with a longboard right under the lip!

Javier Baldovinos

He finally got a wave but the nose when down… I’m going to leave it to your imagination what happened next with him.

Javier Baldovinos

This other guy had more experience and knowledge and he knew which waves to paddle and what to do with them. He got clamped by the wave after a nice little ride under the shade.

Javier Baldovinos

The waves in-between sets were definitely smaller but had better shape.

Javier Baldovinos

It was hard to catch some waves because of the gusts of winds that came every so often… this guy had a late drop because of it.

Javier Baldovinos

If you can handle a late drop then you’ll be fine on the face of the wave to do a couple of little turns.

Javier Baldovinos

Even the locals were having a hard time with the waves… here is Milton trying to reach the face of the wave after a late drop.

Javier Baldovinos

Tricky little wave, looks good though, right?

Several of our properties here at Rancho Santana are getting ready for the season, some are having a whole new look, like the famous Casa Brown that will have 5 bedrooms, or Casa Carolina (formerly known as Casa Linda Vista) that is getting new floors, new bathrooms and new kitchen. Also, Casa Alegre is finally fully furnished and ready to rent so, don’t waste time, plan your next trip to Nicaragua now… the waves are around the corner! Cheers!
