Hey everyone and Welcome to the 4th of July special edition of the Nicaragua Surf Report!! That’s right, we not only recognize the local Nicaraguan days of importance of where we choose to live abroad, but we also don’t forget where we come from; and in doing so, we also much appreciate and celebrate this historic holiday where 241 years ago on July 4th 1776 United States of America claimed their independence and the birth as an independent nation. So in the name of being free… feel free to take a look at what we had in store for todays surf.  Enjoy ~

When the tide was going out (trust me when I say I found a few of the new sandbars when I was out there swimming earlier - I had a few good doughnuts) these low tide drainers were pretty much below sea level and mega shallow. Just be careful on this next swell we have coming in when it goes low tide.

Two of my favorite peeps just happened to be strolling down the beach this afternoon, when out of no-where Megan busts out this flag, hence making the “all-time” best photo for todays report. Megan and Liz, you two are just awesome people! Happy 4th of July ladies!!!

Just as I thought.. still plenty good out there with waves and people were firing off them fireworks with plenty of spectators to witness the show!

 And of course, how can we not represent and be proud of the Red, White and Blue on a day like today.

 Its the small things in life we should never cease to forgot or appreciate, EVER! Freedom should never be taken for granted no matter where you choose to live.
