Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, November 11, 2012

Hey everyone, Brian here again, bringing the report to you on this lazy Sunday afternoon. Well we had fun surf again today and the winds were not as gusty either.  There were still some sets coming in about shoulder to head high, but for the most part the waves were in the waist to chest high range and plenty of people in the lineup. It was nice and overcast though, so we had a nice break from the scorching sun. Check it out!

This is what some of the sets were looking like, a runaway freight train with no one on it.  A lot of these were breaking up the beach while the crowd was straight out.

James and his crew were out again trying to get their fill in before they head back to Miami. Sneaking into a tight little barrel early this morning.

Here's Mark trying to show James how you really get covered up. You don't need any sunblock if you keep staying under the shade all day.

Rick on the other hand was to big to fit into the barrels and decided to work on his hacking skills.

Unknown rider in the distance, managed to squeeze out of the many rights reeling down the beach.

.......almost.

There was only a few people making it out of the barrel this morning and luckily I caught AJ on this little nugget.

Curtain is coming down! And watch out for the odd swimmer!

Styling through the barrel! You think this guy even knows he has a surfer heading his way?

Yep , somebody is getting barreled and you're about to get clocked!

I think he figured it out. Sick barrel of the morning for sure!

That's all she wrote. And that's it for today folks. Looks like the swell is on it's way out, but still should be something fun for everyone. If it get's too small, there's always fishing, which means fresh fish tacos! Adios amigos, hasta manana!

Lucha Libre here with the second and last day of the first surf date of the National Surf Circuit.  The waves got smaller, running about chest to shoulder high on the bigger sets, the winds were nice offshore and the water was killer.  Check out the lineup!

The waves were fun as you can see and a nice crew showed up to support the locals.  Just a different view of the scene!

Locals and International surfers put up a good show.  Cheroqui Martinez with a sick off the top on this beautiful left hander.

Jackson Obando with a cool round house maneuver.  This little kid was surfing well during the whole contest and he made it straight to the juniors final.

The conditions were pretty good and all the competitors were taking advantage on that.  Just take a look at this wave!

The juniors division was pretty tight and everyone had to fight until the last second.  This is Kevin Cortez from Gigante busting a sick frontside air.

All the international surfers in this contest had a good surfing level but it wasn't easy for them to take the locals down.  Mr Pearson doing his thing far down the beach.

The longboard division was totally dominated by Jose El Corage Hernandez all day long.  Styling right on the nose of his big board!

There were plenty of fun waves rolling in, and some of them got no takers.  What a shame, uh!

The show kept going and Mario El Dañino Martinez from Limon was killing it.  Making it to the open finals, as you can notice!

But Mr Calderon has always an ace to take out in the last second.  Small but sick super man maneuver to take the crown with his last wave of the event.

Yes folks, Rex did it again.  How many times have we seen this?  I do not know neither!

The final results are:

Rex Calderon       Open National
Cheroqui Martinez       Master
Jackson Obando         Junior
Dunia Burgos              Girls
Nestor Aleman             Boggie Board
Jose Hernandez          Longboard

Alright boys, this was Lucha Libre Garcia with all the action for the first contest of the national surf circuit.  We want to say thanks to everyone that help to make this event possible.  Peace!
