Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, May 22, 2020

Brian Scott

Hola amigos Happy TGIF to all you frothers out there! Today we had some of the most beautiful water color and incredible lighting, thanks to all this onshore and occasional rainy weather in the PM. The winds weren’t too bad (side shore / onshore) when I got down there to shoot and there actually some fun little corners. I think it may have been the “green light” little window for the day….. I’ll let you guys decide! Jump on in!!

Brian Scott

If this doesn’t look fun then I don’t know what to say…??

Brian Scott

OK, that last photo was truly one of the best waves I saw all day. However, Ernan was out there making it look easy with his surfing like this.

Brian Scott

Looks like Hawaii or something with those different shades of blue eh. His surfing looks like it could be up there on the North Shore as well the talent.

Brian Scott

I caught up with Chris right when he was about to paddle out. I know he’s always keen to find himself a barrel or two.

Brian Scott

Looks like his hunting today was a success!

Brian Scott

Jett charging it on a well overhead green canvas.

Brian Scott

Taking it all the way to the inside with the stylish hand drag stall, looking for that cover up.

Brian Scott

Lucas was another one of the peeps timing it just right for todays magic window session.

Brian Scott

If you zoom in you can see how happy he is to be surfing with hardly anyone out and getting all these waves to himself.

Brian Scott

Lucas…. SUPER STOKED!!!!

Brian Scott

A little changing of the guards has been the norm here with minimal surfers. Grant taking over for Ernan, who always surfed for a couple hours.

Brian Scott

Grant looking like he’s about to smash right into Los Perros… that is if he were a 100ft tall giant! Jajajaja

Brian Scott

Not a lot of the local boys out… but Andy made it over from Gigante to represent the Nica surfing force.

Brian Scott

And what a force he is going to have to be reckoned with. Turning moves like this, just like his big brother Keven Cortez. It’s definitely in the blood!!!

Brian Scott

The chica power has been climbing the ladder here at the Playa Colorados, steadily this season. But that’s what happens when there isn’t about 60-80 international tourists here crowding the lineup and the ladies can finally get some waves to themselves. Enjoy everyone…. THIS PLACE IS SUPER SPECIAL RIGHT NOW, and this might be the last time you ever see it this empty possibly ever again. Enjoy!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!!

Brian Scott

Dario showing how much he’s enjoying it with some nice self expression!

Brian Scott

Grant too!!!

Brian Scott

Danny’s too young to know a whole about this place, but he’s learning the ropes just fine.

Brian Scott

Kai with a KING size floater right around noon!

Brian Scott

Mr. Dario won the wave of the day by nabbing this sick little in-n-out. Check this rad little sequence….

Brian Scott

The cover up that nobody saw coming, but luckily it sure came right to Dario. He caught this wave literally right after he paddle out.

Brian Scott

Clean exits always deserves a little extra lovin’ with a multi shot sequence on the NSR surf report.

Brian Scott

If you do this kind of turn after exiting your nice little barrel, you get added bonus points with one more extra photo!

Brian Scott

Ok, it might be time to go re-group. Or at this point it might be time to go and check the waves again for the evening session. I’m gonna go down and check it… maybe I’ll see ya down there! Yewww ~
