Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, March 31, 2021

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great week just like the one we are having in Nicaragua... it's Holy Week and everyone it's having vacations starting today! (not us though, it's our busiest time!)

Javier Baldovinos

It was still early (or late?) when I checked Colorado... the tide was dropping really fast and the waves were not that great, and there was only one surfer in the water.

Javier Baldovinos

So I went to check out Panga Drops which seemed a lot better than Colorado but the wind was starting to blow hard.

Javier Baldovinos

There were only two surfers in the water, one was this girl who was killing it on every turn, her power surfing was on point at this spot.

Javier Baldovinos

The other surfer was not catching as many waves as the girl but had a few great rides.

Javier Baldovinos

Back to the girl... check out her bottom turn! digging so hard on those rails, compressing all that energy and aiming it toward the face of the wave.

Javier Baldovinos

And releasing all that energy gained on the bottom turn right on the top of the wave. Her rail work was impressive.

As I mentioned at the beginning, Holy Week is our busiest week of the year so, I couldn't stay too long at Panga Drops because I had to go visit some clients staying at Casa Rock in Rancho Santana, which is right in front of Rosada beach.

Javier Baldovinos

The tide was right for this spot and thank goodness there was at least one surfer enjoying the good conditions at Rosada.

Javier Baldovinos

Wave after wave he was getting barreled... Rosada is such a great spot when the conditions lign up.

Javier Baldovinos

If you are not familiar with Rosada beach, it's a left point break usually with nobody around because it only has a 2-hour window and if you are not staying inside Rancho Santana it's hard to check it out.

Javier Baldovinos

You can rent one of the many houses we manage inside Rancho Santana just walking distance to this spot and you might find yourself spending a great time on the shade... just like this lone ranger.

Javier Baldovinos

Throughout the day the wind grew in intensity and the water is probably getting colder... you can tell just by looking at this little birds looking to warm up on the rocks at Rosada beach. Come back tomorrow because it's going to be good! Cheers!
