Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Last night record numbers of voters came out in force to paint our nation Blue!  When it was over, Barack Obama was announced as our new President Elect by an overwhelming majority.  It seems our nation is finally ready for a change.  Here at NSR, we are not only hopeful for a new direction for our country but also hopeful we'll not have to hear one more interview with the super mavericky Sarah Palin.  It'll be nice when all the political ads stop running too.  Congrat's to Barack and to McCain for being a gracious runner-up!

Now let's get this country going again so we can all take more surf trips!!!

Hi and thanks for joining us for the Wednesday surf report.  Today we went back to Playa Maderas in the morning trying to score some fun ones but it was not exactly what we were hoping to find.  The waves were running about knee to waist high with some sporadic chest high waves on sets and the wind was light ONSHORE.

A couple of locals made it out to the beach and were doing a couple of good maneuvers on some choppy waves.  Here we have a shot of “La Gaviota” Chamorro with a cool turn.

There were not many people out because we didn’t have much in the way of swell.  So there were some international surfers taking off on some of their friend’s waves.  Here is this shot to prove it.

Today an airplane flew over the beach and dropped off a couple of surfers.  We are just kidding, this is “La Bestia” going big with this huge air.  It looked like he had a couple of turbines tied to his ankles this morning to get that much air.

On the last shot we have this unknown pale rider riding one of the cleaner waves of the day.  The swell is dropping for tomorrow and the wind is supposed to be offshore in the morning so check back with us.
