Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Carl NSR

We are NSR coming at you with another installment of our daily Nicaragua surf report. We are home sweet home deep in the rainiest time of year enjoying the down time. Sometimes conditions come together this time of year for some empty magic in the lineup. We rolled up to the beach with fingers crossed.

Carl NSR

Our daily surf check ritual even on stormy days is a walk or bike down to the beach and the suspense builds as we get to the trail at the beach club. Are we surfing or not?

Carl NSR

Alas, and as expected (yes we do also check the wind apps) a stormy south wind was howling rendering conditions close to un-surfable. Damn, two days in a row that might be some kind of record, haha. Waves were about head high, peaky and thumping. If it weren't for this wind it would be on.

A quick look up the beach reveals I am not the only one looking to get outside today. Still no brave souls getting in the water though. Rain or shine this view of Los Perros cliff never gets old.

Carl NSR

A quick look back in the archives shows this day last year with similar conditions to today. But three years ago today was PRISTINE, hmm!

Carl NSR

And two year ago today conditions were not too shabby either.

However, most people in the area were knee deep in clean up and hustling on relief efforts post Hurricane Nate.

Back to the action here at the beach shows no change in sight for the conditions. Nevertherless, there are some corners out there for the diehard super frother! Airgame anyone?

Carl NSR

After the requisite paddle/hunt for boostable ramps in that onshore slop, there's always golf! #gotProV?

Heading straight to the blue tee box on #2 you can do a distant surf check. And from this ocean view vantage once you reassure yourself the wind has not magically switched relax into your game and smash one.

Carl NSR

All the rain we have been getting has the course and the whole Tola zone looking down right emeraldy (yes, I just made up that word). Look at all that green.

Carl NSR

Not sure whether to laugh or cry when your approach wedge gets you here. Almost a birdie, not quite.......

If you've been here then you know this mural. Our beloved Pili's Kitchen is closed for the month. So we'll just have to wait a couple more weeks for a wasabi fish sandwich and a colorado bomb smoothie. Alright, it's looking like more of the same conditions-wise tomorrow with a chance of a break in the weather later in the day. Hasta mañana!
