Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, September 18, 2022

Brian Scott

Welcome Sunday and weekend surf friends and family! If you happened to chime in and see Mr. Chris’s surf report, you saw that yesterday was completely on fire and super EPIC! Today, well, as you can see there’s still some really good swell in the water, but those pesky onshore winds have returned once again. Looks like the week is forecast to be onshore for most of the time, but return back to offshore towards the end of the week. . . hopefully sooner though!

Brian Scott

Only a couple surfers and this bodyboarder out, braving the hard pushing onshore crumble, chunked up surf

Brian Scott

What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. Why that quote you might ask? Well, even though it wasn’t one of our typical picture perfect sunny, offshore days, it still wouldn’t kill you to paddle out anyways. I mean check out this dude’s ripping sick style in pretty meager conditions.

Brian Scott

Oh what a difference it all makes with how much the winds can make or break a surf spot.

Brian Scott

Luckily for us, we have that humungous body of water that sits perfectly inland from the coast here, which more days than not, drawls the winds offshore from across the other side of Nicaragua. Today would have maybe been a great day for kiting.

Brian Scott

Ohhhh, well look who it is. . . . It’s Mr. Baldo! What do you think he's doing??? hand lining (fishing from the lagoon) out of frame from the fresh water river that a runs off and into the ocean right where his son is doing a little Sunday Funday boogie boarding.

Brian Scott

Hahaaaaa - see, well its not “kite-SURFING” but like I said, it was a good day for doing some kind of kiting!

Brian Scott

Yup, there’s definitely still some decent swell out there.

Brian Scott

You just had to be a little more creative and maybe work a little harder than normal out there with todays conditions.

Brian Scott

Aaaaand this pretty much sums up with about how good it’s going to get today, unfortunately.
