Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, August 09, 2010

Hola, Eric here with Monday’s surf report. The waves were kinda small this afternoon, we had a nice offshore wind blowing all day though and that was grooming the waves nicely.  Warm water and a little bit of a crowd in the water. Check it yo!

Gotta’ give a shout out to a fellow Floridian. This is Dylan from Flagler beach on a sweet little left. Dylan came down to Nica with his dad Dale and they’ve been surfing every day. Stoked to get into some Pacific power!

NSR along with the help of Surfari Charters have helped organized a community service project for a group of high school students from Virginia Beach, VA .  We are fixing up a baseball field in a little town called El Astillero.  The first thing we had to do was clear out the old backstop to make room for the new one.  Here’s Pancho with a few kids in the crew playin’ tug o war with a stump.

This is Parker trying to cut through metal with a table saw.  He would make one cut every 10 minutes or so, and then we finally got our hands on an electric saw and went through all the poles in about 10 seconds.

Here is the random Nica shot for today:  This little guy was giving me the death stare as I snapped a photo of him. He was just cruising down the street with this ax that he could hardly carry.

Back on the beach, this is Seth from Utah ripping a nice frontside hack.  Seth has been starting to surf much better lately and it shows in this shot.   The waves that were coming through were super rippable and when the tide dropped it even started to barrel pretty good.

These guys were posted up drying their wings after it rained today.  Nicaragua’s got some beautiful countryside, which you can see in the backround of this shot.

Here’s a photo that was taken from the New NSR Beach House at Playa Colorado (along with the first photo, and the next). It’s such a cool pad, the view is so sweet and it’s right in front of an awesome beach break! Interested?  It will be online in about a month so come on down and stay at the best place in Nicaragua!  This is Pancho dropping in on a sick little left.

WOooo! The wave of the session this afternoon with an unknown rider getting’ shacked! After I took this pic I couldn’t stand on the beach and take photos anymore, I had to get one of these! That’s it for today, tomorrow should be another day of fun waves. Be sure and check back to NSR tomorrow for more coverage from Nicaragua! This is Eric and I’m out-
