Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, July 13, 2012

Aloha and welcome back to another daily report from NSR.  The waves are tiny today and the water is thick with surfers from many different nations as we get closer to the start of the world masters surfing championship!  We have some waist to chest high waves with a nice offshore wind and the water feels great on this hot day!  Check it!

You may have noticed some lineup shots from a high angle (like the previous photo), this is what our man Lucha had to do in order to get those!!  The man is a dang monkey and not to bad with a machete!!  It was a pretty solid fall from up there!

I ran in to this man today down by the beach.  Representing team Hawaii, Mr. Sunny Garcia.  Of course we had to hook him up with some NSR gear!  Nice to meet you amigo, good luck this week!

Only one more week until the big fiesta down at Surfari Charters!  Celebrating their 10th annniversary party the right way... with free Flor de Cana!!  Be sure and stop by and join in on the fun!

This is about as small as the I've seen the waves in awhile.  Here's Carlos surfing his way through the crowd and picking up some fun ones!

Sonia ''La Pucha'' Garcia (not Lucha's sister) went for a quick surf this morning.  Getting some practice in on this wave before she charges the contest, representing Panama!!

If you walk down the beach right now you'll hear different languages and accents from all over the world.  This man is holdin' it down for the Aussies!  Ripping a backside turn on this little left!

Even when the waves are small here there will be some fun sized sets coming through.  Just have to be ready for them... Nobody was in the spot when this right came through!

The waves were small so Sonia didn't hang at the beach for too long.  She came up to the shop to show us her ping pong skills!

I think ping pong is actually more fun when you're playing against a pretty woman!  Nice try chica! haaaa

This is Terry riding the mysto left down the beach on his sup.  He's down here with a cool crew from the island of Maui and living it up at the NSR beach house!

Last action shot of the day goes to this kid throwing up some spray on his forehand!    Tomorrow is the opening ceremony for the contest being held in Rivas.  All the teams representing their countries will be there from 3 to 6 pm and it should be a blast!  Come down and check it out if you are in the area!  First heats will start on Sunday morning and we will try to bring you a heat schedule with our report tomorrow!  Stay tuned with NSR we've got a busy week ahead of us!  This is Eric and I'm out !
