Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, May 14, 2009

Hi guys, today was a day to relax and enjoy our Nicaragua lifestyle! Some of us went up north to get some fun waves that  we found. It was a little side shore, head high, and kind of fun. We left the interns at home to take care of business while the waves were not prime, so when it is firing they will be able score. Check out what we got!

For the first shot of the day we have this guy taking off on one of the better right of the day.  The waves were inconsistent today but there plenty of fun waves coming through.

The waves weren’t epic, but if you waited on the right waves you could catch a fun barrel like this. Not that many of the waves were opening up, so this guy was stoked to snag this wave.

This is Mateo “El Coco” not to be confused with our Mateo “Guineo”! He is from Cocoa Beach Florida where the waves on a good day are rarely this fun.

This is Mike “Maladascar”, a friend of Mateo “El Coco.” These guys were so excited about the waves, they were shocked when they asked Jairo about the surf and he said that today wasn’t really that good.

This is a sweet shot of an unknown rider having a rough day. Normally you try to hit the lip with two feet on the board, but this guy was feeling daring so he used one foot and his culo…..

“The Godfather” was commanding the lineup as normal. Earlier in the day Jairo hit him in the knee with the camera. So, when he passed Jairo this time he was a little disturbed. Can you tell by his face?

This is Ollie “La Cebollita” bottoming turning on a fun right. Big board for a big guy!  The waves should be really fun tomorrow.  Please be sure to make it out.  Check back with us.
