Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, May 09, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone, this is Baldo with Tuesday´s surf report. Today i got to the beach at around 1:30 pm trying to get the high to mid tide window and the onshore came a few minutes earlier.

Javier Baldovinos

The waves were small but still there were a few people trying to have some fun with them.

Javier Baldovinos

If you were patient enough you could score a good wave like this one, enough to keep you happy for the rest of the day.

Javier Baldovinos

As I always said, onshore wind is good to practice some aerial moves, check out this guy getting some air under the board on this little wave.

If you were patient (and lucky!) enough then you might found a good wave with enough wall to make a few turns before it closed out on you.

Javier Baldovinos

Like Hine, who was catching some fun ones on her funboard on a corner just by herself.

After a while everyone started to get out of the water and head back to their house. We are kinda spoiled here in Nicaragua, a little bit of onshore and everybody starts complaining about it.

Javier Baldovinos

And what do you do when you have small waves with onshore winds?? well, these two guys from San Antonio, Texas invited me to go for some drinks on the beach, after all, what else can you do with these conditions??

Javier Baldovinos

We walked to the north end of the beach and we found the Tola Rugby team practicing on the beach, they were running and throwing the ball up and down the beach. At least some people were doing something productive.

Javier Baldovinos

After a while the onshore kinda calmed down and some beginners started heading to beginners bay just around the rocks. I didn´t even try to go check it out, it was too small.

I just stayed with these crazy guys watching the sunset and enjoying the rugby practice on the beach. Tomorrow the conditions seems to be a tiny little bit bigger, come back to check it out. Cheers!
