Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, April 26, 2020

Brian Scott

Hola damas y caballeros, welcome to your Sunday Funday surf report. Well, if you happened to check out yesterdays report, you saw that it was absolutely firing. I wanted to get down early this morning so I could give you another dose of Nica-Land Epic-ness. Jump on in and check it out!

Brian Scott

I arrived to the beach pretty early this morning, right about 7Am. Sadly the swell had diminished a little and the consistency wasn’t as good, however there were only a few heads out and the waves were still SUPER fun looking! How do you like your huevos rancheros double hand drag stall?? This guy likes his slightly over easy!

Brian Scott

Perfect lighting, light winds, head high to occasional well overhead barrels. Yeah… it was panning out to be another good day of surf!

Brian Scott

The mid morning crew were slowly making their way down to the waters edge. There were a few diehards out already at first light, like around 5:30Am.

Brian Scott

Everyone I spoke with after these last few days of really good swell said the same thing. Pretty much sore and surfed out. But that will never stop any surfer when the waves are this good day after day! Noodle arms…. come’ on amigo… PADDLE, you got this!!!

Brian Scott

Yesterday, I called out Ryan to be there early for another round of barrel madness. Well, here he is….punctual and slotted just as planned. Yeah Señor Cook!

Brian Scott

Who needs coffee when you have this to wake up to!?!?!?! Only 7:13 and Nacho’s going full throttle Folders Espresso! btw that coffee reference is an oxymoron I think?? haha - sick wave regardless Noch!

Brian Scott

The cut around crew taking the road less traveled and back door’ing one of Latin Americas best waves, before even jumping in the water to do some real back door’ing in some sick tubos.

Brian Scott

See, I wound’t use the term “Backdoor” so freely…

Brian Scott

… if this wave didn’t resemble the other iconic wave so much.

Brian Scott

The water temps are pretty close, the water color is very similar. The only two major differences are the bottom contour and about 50-100 people.

Brian Scott

You can’t see him to know, but this is Peter, who also has been surfing his brains out like everyone else.

Brian Scott

Mystery barrel surfers all weekend. Here’s another one!

Brian Scott

What do you do when you’re a power surfing couple and your body is wrecked from surfing for hours upon hours yesterday. You take a nice morning beach walk to stretch them arms and legs.

Brian Scott

When you skip out on even taking a look at this wave and are scrambling for something out the back… you know it’s gotta be really freaking good!

Brian Scott

Yup! Good call Nacho!!

Brian Scott

Sticking the drop and ready to make some investments in tubo-vison!!!!

Brian Scott

Yeah doggy….. Classic Nacho tongue out and all, just before the PC beatdown!!!! Your time travel from the sequence was epic btw homie!

Brian Scott

With so many barrels all morning, it’s good to mix things up with some outer barrel power surfing. Like this hombres sick turn.

Brian Scott

Ryan pig dogging his way through another little drainer.

Brian Scott

As I mentioned, the swell did dip a bit from yesterday, but the smaller ones were still pretty fun and yes there were some pulsing bigger ones that would come through still if you were patient.

Brian Scott

Ali-oop, sure why not?

Brian Scott

Here’s one of the early morning diehards I was talking about earlier and one of those bigger set waves I was referring to as well. Buzz making the drop and setting up what looks to be a really nice one!

Brian Scott

Speed-lining it, taking a super high line…..

Brian Scott

Now setting it up nicely for some tube time!

Brian Scott

Uh oh…. that things looking like it’s dredging hard off of that sand bottom.

Brian Scott

That’s ok, Buzz is man who rarely straightens out. Locked in and ready for the full commitment of a Colorados grinder!

Brian Scott

Yeah buddy… that’s a big board too, look how much room you have in that frothy sand castle!

Brian Scott
