Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, April 27, 2020

Brian Scott

Happy Monday everyone! It’s that time again. Time for a new week… but down here in Nica-Land, we don’t always like to run by a schedule, at least if we can help it. Well the swell (or lack of swell) also made it a little hard to time the surf sessions today, so I ended up doing the afternoon hail marry. Luckily to my surprise and the help of a few of my good amigos, I think we pulled off another fun day of surfing and photos for the report on a rather lackluster day. Come on in!

Brian Scott

The Springfield 3 pack and a coast line that looks practically like a lake. Exercise is exercise though. So I’m glad they decided to paddle out.

Brian Scott

John first up with a really nice backlit turn.

Brian Scott

Check out the night and day difference between the two, one backlit and one front lit direct golden hour sunlight. Both are cool looks… which one do you prefer??

Brian Scott

Either way you decide, there’s no debating the stye John’s displaying with his form on this sick little turn.

Brian Scott

Older brother Josh up next. I was really stoked to see not one, not two, but all three of these fine gentlemen out there ripping in the 2-3 foot side shore slop.

Brian Scott

Josh giving his “Big” kid bother a little lesson on backside hack attacking.

Brian Scott

Even though the forecast says we might have a few down days with swell for now, I know for a fact that everyone here feels absolutely blessed to be able to do what we do here every single day.

Brian Scott

Now for the Grand Puba! Señor Springfield. This guy’s a legend down here. He puts together pretty much all sports related activities for Hacienda Iguana.

Brian Scott

Anything from the weekly golf scrambles, to the annual Chompipe surf contest every Thanksgiving and the most popular Volleyball nightly games, scrimmages and actual full on V-Ball contest which is highly sought out here by almost the entire community.

Brian Scott

Make no mistake that this guy’s like the Pablo Escobar of extracurricular activities around here. He get’s Sh!t DONE Son!

Brian Scott

And he’s one of the nicest most down earth people on the planet. Love you Dan the MAN!!!!

Brian Scott

Lindsey finding her social distancing perch and perfect wave watching seat for the soon to be sunset.

Brian Scott

There’s a whole new generation of little surfers here, starting to find their feet in the salt, wax and sand as well.

Brian Scott

Carlitos is one of the many little guppies frothing out, learning the ways of the ocean from their surfing parents like many other little ones who reside here. Hows’ this Kelly Slater / Rob Machado throw back high five looking wave???? I see a lot of talent coming out of this place once again. I think if my math is right, this might be the 3rd generation of surfers here.

Brian Scott

Of course there were some really gnarly wipeouts today!!! hahaha

Brian Scott

Like clockwork, the big kids always know what time it is to come out and play.

Brian Scott

Big, small, offshore, onshore, rain or shine…. you know who the real surfers are here.

Brian Scott

I’ve known Cesar for quite a few years now and all I know is there’s one certainty, he loves the ocean!

Brian Scott

Dudie, really nice turn on this wave buddy! Glad we both get to call this place home!

Brian Scott

Tony Z (aka) “One and Done Phenom”! He actually got two waves this session, but I couldn’t help throwing up this sick shot of his floater. Yeah T!

Brian Scott

Chris is another ocean-minded friend who lives pretty much day by day by the sea. On land, he’s another level of work O’ holic, but I think that’s what drives people like him to succeed. He lets all of his worries melt away by jumping in the ocean.

Brian Scott

Wether it’s boating way out offshore and fishing or diving, or paddling into big bomb waves in his backyard, one things for certain….

Brian Scott

He’s one super cool dude! Glad I can call him my amigo!

Brian Scott

Annnnnd last not but not least for todays Monday surf report… I give you Mr. Dario.  Setting up with a nice backside bottom turn on this little left.

Brian Scott

Considering what you have to work with, I’d say this turn is pretty rad buddy!

Brian Scott

Yeah…. ok, I agree… it was a 10!!!  jajajaja

Brian Scott

Smoke signals? Some Rasta man in the jungle with a REALLT HUGE fat spliff????? Nahhh that’s “Asado” my friends. Also known as Latin BBQ. Yup, and they’re grilling up some mighty fine cerdo. Save some for me amigos!!!!

Brian Scott

Reflecting on the day, the surf session, or just life itself? One thing’s for certain. Life is good here in Nicaragua.

Brian Scott

Alright, this one’s for all you lovers of a good sunset. I’ll leave you with this for the end of the day and your memory banks. As always, thank you for coming by to check out our surf reports. If you get a chance, tell a friend to check it out. Hopefully we can brighten someone else’s day as well! Cheers ~
