Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, March 28, 2017

Brian Scott

Good afternoon and welcome to todays surf report. First off.. I would like take a second to introduce myself. I'm Brian (NSR handle/nickname is still in the works haha) and I will be helping out with the report a few days out of the week now with Parker and Baldo. I look forward to adding some of my creative take on surfing through the experience with my years behind the lens and hope that you will enjoy what I can add to this already epic display of amazing photos from NSR here in Nicaragua! So on to the good stuff..! This morning we had some fun small sized surf on the low tide going out at the reef. A boat showed up with a fun group who was having a blast out there.

For example look at that little cover up. Not bad for a mediocre day here in Nica. There was a super friendly vibe out in the water today so this lucky guy made sure to give a couple back to the guy who didn’t make the wave.

This girl was looking for that same little section that was barreling. Get in there chica! You’ll notice some people are sporting some neoprene. The water is a little chili, but there were a few out there who opted out for the wetsuit.

Here we have Joe (Happy Birthday btw buddy) Eric, Robyn, Trisha, Rob, Face, and Kevin who came over from Giants foot in Gigante by boat. They’re here for the week and have been having a great time surfing here at one of our many good surf breaks.

This is Todd Gryzwana. He lives here with his beautiful wife and two adorable kids. Normally he’s out looking for big barrels on his “shorter” board, but today is mellow. So he’s just cruising making it look easy with all kinds of style on his long board… and no need for any neoprene. This water is bath water compared to where he is originally from way up in Northern CA.

Here’s that same inside section just calling for a little more water on the reef. This spot breaks almost with anything, but it works even better on a fuller tide so you can image how good it can get with some good swell.

Brian Scott

What’s better than getting a little head dip and then coming out with a nice roundhouse with that speed.

Brian Scott

Local friend and all around good guy Rob Limacher making his way to the surf… hey Rob turn around. Check out the point! Rob surfs this wave a lot. I bet he’s thinking about how many waves he’s gonna catch this session. Either that or work.. but either way, that will all dissolve once he hits the refreshing water!

Brian Scott

How cool is it that your mate can film you while surfing the same wave. Bet it’s going to look like one of those killer POV shots from a ski.

Brian Scott

“Yeah amigo - you get that clip or what?”

The structure for Costa Mar is coming along nicely. If you are looking to buy down here, this place is going to be super nice! Not to mention it sits right in front of this wave magnet of a surf spot that breaks all year long. Contact NSR or go to the link below for any inquiries to check out how amazing this place is going to look when it’s completed.

Here’s that same wave I was referring to when I said “Not to mention is sits right in front of this wave magnet surf spot that breaks all year long”. How would you like this wave as your morning view every day?

Brian Scott

The real take off spot for this wave (if you want the longest ride) is to sit way outside and wait. Just when you think there aren’t any waves coming that far out, think again. You’ll be the happiest person in the lineup knowing you’re not going to get that sneaker set on your cabeza!

Brian Scott

The point up the way has had a nice long nap and ready for the southern hemisphere to come alive.

Brian Scott

Speaking of dogs.. looks like everyone is ready to play!

Looking back down towards our other familiar and world iconic wave, this guys is stoked on 3 foot waves, wait till we get our next big swell buddy!

Here's a quick little video clip overlooking our famous Colorado's beach break. Enjoy!

Patty and Laura - always good to see them out walking the beach.

Brian Scott

The rights today were the longest and once that tide gets a little higher, it’s going to be even better.

Brian Scott

I love seeing a nice close out, off the lip, floater to finish off a wave. Just feels… right!

Brian Scott

The lefts were good too. How’s this sick little turn right in front of your amigo. I hope that GoPro was on.
