Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, March 27, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone, this is Baldo with today’s surf report from Santana beach. The conditions were not that great, we had small, messy waves but that didn’t stop anybody from coming.

Javier Baldovinos

Today has been one of the few days that the waves were not barreling (we are so spoiled!) so everyone was practicing their turns.

Javier Baldovinos

Look at that nice curtain this guy threw on this little wave… sadly he lost grip on his front foot and he didn’t complete the maneuver. Keep practicing buddy, maybe next time!

First peak was packed, there were a bunch of people elbowing each other waiting for these rare bombs that came through once in a while.

Javier Baldovinos

There were some fun ones breaking in the middle of the beach, but again, it was messy so it was hard to be ready and catch the good ones… like this one, a nice looking A-frame that rolled humanless all the way to the sand.

A little farther north the rights were working fine, there were longer than the rest but also faster.

Javier Baldovinos

This guy was having so much fun on them. He was catching more (good) waves than anybody else.

I want to take the chance to let everybody know that Casa Rock, the newest home in Rancho Santana located at playa Rosada, is available for Semana Santa/Easter week, if you are interested send us an email to [email protected] for a reservation.

Back on the beach... here is señor Right again, carving the hell out of the wave after speeding through a section.

Javier Baldovinos

I think this guy takes the win for the biggest spray of the day, he put so much energy on that turn!

Javier Baldovinos

It wasn’t all turns and water throwing today, we also had a lonely bodysurfer gliding through the faces of just a few waves, but he knew exactly which ones to pick.

Javier Baldovinos

Señor Right on a nice “barrel”, one of the few of the whole afternoon.

Javier Baldovinos

I decided to walk a little farther north and look what I found… a group of crazy soon-to-be little surfers utilizing bodyboards to learn how to read the waves and get use to get pounded on the sand.

Javier Baldovinos

After a few waves they decided that they wanted bigger waves and found this rocky sand dune, perfect for practicing late drops! That goofy stand is going to go very well in Nicaragua, the land of the lefts!

Thanks for visiting us everyday on this amazing journey through the waves of Nicaragua! Come back tomorrow for more!
