Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, March 29, 2017

What’s happening ladies and gents?! Happy Humpday and welcome to Hotstick Hannahs’ edition to today’s surf report. Check out the early morning beachie shots.

Nothing crazy is going on down here but there are still some fun waves. There were some smooth buttery chest/shoulder high waves peeling off the bar.

I want to welcome back my buddy Ryan Shapiro. For the 2015 holidays, him and the Flegel crew spent some time here. Now, Ryan made a quick mission to score some fun waves. It’s good to see you and surf with you again bro!

This time, his buddy Clay joined him. These muchachos are from southern Florida so they’re still stoked on a down day in NICA Land. I was happy to hang out on the sidelines getting some shots of them and rest up for the next dosage of waves.

Clay is in an awesome spot in life: early 20’s, not many responsibilities, and a desire to go enjoy the world. Clay, keep doing what you’re doing and enjoy your time working on yachts! Work hard, surf some waves (and hit some parties), and make good connections for the next chapter of your life.

Meanwhile, it seems like Ryan already has most things figured out. That could be said for his barrel riding or punts launched at the end of the wave.

Last night, we moto’ed up to a northern spot and enjoyed an empty peak. Nobody was out to contest us for the glassy shoulder high right handers. How about we rinse and repeat dudes? Then maybe hit Calabria or Yolanda’s for dinner???

Although, the rights here are pretty enticing too…

As we are gearing up for Easter/Semana Santa, we want to show off Rancho del Mar. Historically, this house is booked well in advance but it’s still open this year. Click the vacation rentals tab, check out some photos, and bring some friends down to enjoy the house and nearby waves.

In case you’re wondering, no, Rancho del Mar does not come with Calala… But Rancho del Mar does come with an epic second story palapa, a private pool, and one of the comfy-est couches in the development.

To gear up for that busy week, a couple people are taking a quick vacation. Unfortunately, we must wait until Friday for Pili’s PPP (the best breakfast) or nachos con pollo. The bar is still open and serving cold beers and tropical drinks.

Josh Springfield won’t wait around for much (unless it’s time to grind). Check out what he made out of this olita.

Respectable turn hombre!! Good style and power.

Yeah he backside top turn is cool, but wait until it's heavy and throwing... He'll show off his true backside skill then.

Put the cherry on top and knock out one more turn. We’ll see if he has that same power on the volleyball court later this afternoon…

Ryan moved to the southern peak to see why the lefts crept through untouched. Here’s what he found.

What do you say we check out the forecast and maybe his a reef/point while you guys are in town??? Last time they were here, we did a boat day and enjoyed fun uncrowded waves…

Here’s one last right that peeled through the sandbar. It’s almost that time to get back out there and enjoy the dropping tide.

Ok damas and caballeros, I’m going to wrap things up for the day and see you out there. Thank you guys for checking out today’s report and I hope you guys have a good rest of the week. Adios amigos!!
