Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, March 18, 2010

What’s up folks?  We are the NSR family bringing you all the action for this Thursday surf report.  Today we went to the beach in the afternoon with a couple friends trying to catch some really fun waves.  The waves were firing, running about chest to head high on sets with nice offshore winds.  Check out the lineup!!!

Today we are going to start with this sick shot of Dunia bottom turning this sweet right.  She was the only girl that we caught taking some mini bumps out there.

There were a couple of international surfers trying to get some waves, but it was very hard for them because they don’t know this wave very well.  Here is caught this guy riding a nice left.

We had a couple of nice waves barreling and “El Tuzo” Morales was in the right spot as well to score some of the better ones.  Check him out getting drained on this one.

A couple of beginners decided to take lessons with the NSR Surf School and as you can see he was charging.  He’s from New York and this is the first time he made it out.  Can you guys believe it?

It is really amazing when waves like this one coming in at this spot.  It is a shame nobody took this one!

Luis “La Baloy” Chamorro was ripping all over the place as always.  There is not much to say all you have to do it watch it.  The photo of the day!

Oliver “El Monito” Solis took a softtop out there for a while and was picking up some of the bigger sets we had rolling in.  Here he is working on his backside drop on this right.

On the last shot of the day we have “La Bestia” Calderon busting a sick frontside air.  The waves are supposed to be fun tomorrow as well so make sure to check us back out.

And now we'd like to post a few shots from our friend Mike at NicaWaves.  He was out today shooting Popoyo and sent in some cool photos.  This is the local legend and big wave charger "Manu" - toying with a fun insider.

Here at NSR, we always like to see a good Air.  This is Albert from S. Carolina, boosting the inside section.  Thanks for the photos Mike!  We look forward to some good shots from you this year.  If you are visiting the Popoyo area, be sure to check out NicaWaves.
