Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, January 25, 2018

Javier Baldovinos

Hola amigos de NSR! This is Baldo reporting from Jiquelite beach. Today the waves got smaller and the wind was strong.

Javier Baldovinos

There were little A-frames breaking once in a while all along the beach, and sadly only one surfer in the water.

Javier Baldovinos

Actually there were two guys in the water when I got there, but soon enough this guy took his last wave and headed home, leaving me with only one surfer to work with for the surf report.

Javier Baldovinos

With only one guy in the water there were so many good waves that went unridden... all lonely and sad, poor waves.

Javier Baldovinos

My one and only target for the surf report was failing on his very simple job... catch waves so I can take photos of him surfing...

Javier Baldovinos

I was almost about to start yelling to him "Go Go Go" on each wave that came, but he never went for it! Serioulsly, what's the point of going surfing if you don't catch any waves?

Javier Baldovinos

Look at that little tubito, teasing me more than the guy in the water.

Javier Baldovinos

After a while I stop waiting for the surfer to catch a wave and focused my attention in other stuff, like this couple and their dog walking on the beach.

Javier Baldovinos

There were more chances to see First Peak to come alive again today than the surfer to decide to go for a wave, not even a wipe out, nothing!

Javier Baldovinos

The offshore winds have been really strong the last few days (look at the white caps), making the water cold, which means that fish are getting closer to shore and closer to the surface.

Javier Baldovinos

So, if you go for a walk on the beach, hold on tight to your hat because you might lose it... just like I lost the hope on the "surfer" on the background.

Javier Baldovinos

The waves are suposed to get bigger, on the 2-4 ft range, at the beginning of next week. Lets cross our fingers that the waves will be good and that there will be surfers catching waves for the camera. Cheers!
