Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, January 25, 2009

Welcome to the Sunday surf report, this is Jairo “Come Pan” Ramos bringing you all the action from the beach. Before all the surf action, we wanted to share this special picture with you guys. This is the NSR soccer team, and they continue to dominate this season.  Today they played in the season semi-finals and won again 3 - 1.  Best of luck in the Finals guys!

Later on we headed down to Maderas before dark to score some fun waves. When we arrived, three we found some super nice sets with sizeable waves!!!  I've got call out all the swell models on this one because they've all been forecasting FLAT conditions.  This swell obviously snuck in under the RADAR and we aren't complaining. The waves were running about head high in sets with offshore winds and chilly willy water!!! Check out the shots we got today.

Some of the locals made it out this afternoon, catching loads of good waves to themselves because the waves weren’t too crowded. This is Carlos but not “Carlos Caliente” scoring one of the better rights of the day!!!  That's a solid head-high wave in January!

The locals weren’t the only ones that were out in the line up scoring good waves. Here we have an unknown rider, taking off on a nice looking left.  Pump it!  Pump it!  Pump it!

Here we caught a rad shot of Augusto “La Gaviota” Chamorro working hard at his back flip and looking pretty damn good in the process.  The things the kids are doing on surfboards these days...

When you come to Nicaragua, remember one thing - You always look good on a big yellow surfboard!

We want to leave you with this sweet right rolling all the way into the beach from Machete pt.  The waves were super fun out there today and we are looking forward to more of the same tomorrow.  This has been Jairo "CP" reporting live on the scene - check you manana!
