Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, December 07, 2022

Brian Scott

Howdy partners! SBS here slinging up some soft serve small kine waves for you on this sunny and hot but nice and breezy in-between the little wind gusty Wednesday. (Windy season is here chicos, and it will only get stronger - so get ready for those nice tropical water temps to drop soon! Ugh).

Brian Scott

So small, only two people out today. Marcos (here) patiently waiting for a set wave (also shown here) rolling in on the tide coming up.

Brian Scott

Yeah, buddy, turn and burn!!!

Brian Scott

Seeeeee, I wasn’t making things up. Marcos (dawning the hooded full sleeve rashie already) is a local so he’s more prone to being a lot more acclimated to the normal 8-85 degree + water temps. I’m sure it’s still well above that dreaded 68 degree mark (which it will eventually succumb to once all that upwelling wrecks havoc on our luscious tropical blissful water we get to enjoy about 9 months out of the year.

Brian Scott

Not bad brother! It’s actually harder to surf smaller waves than the bigger stuff.

Brian Scott

He would have had the entire lineup to himself, but this lesson taking chica was a good 200 yards from where Marcos was even sitting, so he did pretty much have the whole lineup to himself.

Brian Scott

Yeaaaaah pink softy unknown beginner ripper girl! Get er’ done!!!

Brian Scott

I couldn’t help but look down to peep and see what was happenin’ down towards the PC way. Small down that way too, but looks like there was about to be a very equal or similar surfer setup down there too. One person already out in the water and a LB’er bout to paddle out. The forecast is looking to be pretty small for a while, or at least for the next week or so for our last month of the year for surf.

Brian Scott

Soooooo - I know a lot of you. . . . YES YOU! You know who you are (jejeje) who LOVE themselves some poker and gambling!!!!! Well, If you don’t have anything going on this weekend, (the surf’s gonna be small anyways), so The San Juan del Sur Day School PTO would be pleased for you to join them for the 2nd Annual Casino Night at TreeCasa benefiting the San Juan Del Sur Day School Scholarship Fund. It’s a really fun party and it’s open to anyone who would like to come out for a nice fun night of gaming, music, food and drinks at one of SJDS’s premier hot spots “Tree Casa”; and here’s a list of some of the TOP PRIZES being given away 1. Condo in Mexico 2. Fishing Charters 3. Poker table. Plus it’s all for a really GREAT cause as all the proceeds from the event will go to and benefit scholarships for local Nicaraguan children! It’s a WIN WIN, no matter what hand you draw…. ohhh and there’s an after party at TUANI’S too!!! So mark your calendar for this weekend and you can even pre-book your tickets here now by selecting any one of the multiple options listed via the flyer to prebook your ticket to get in while it’s HOT!!!! Oh &, p.s. There will also be a shuttle service coming and going to and from Tree Casa from the downtown area of SJDS, so don’t worry if you need a lift, they’ve got you covered. Feel free to email here [email protected] if you have any additional questions about the event!

Brian Scott

You know. . . it wasn’t really that long ago that this place was completely void of any surfers. I can only imagine allllllllllllll of thosssssssse INSANE days where there wasn’t a soul on the beach OR in the water. Kinda makes you go Hmmmmmmm?!?!?!?!

Brian Scott

Marcos paddling ever so slowly (since there was not another single person to worry about on the outside) just the next set of waves beckoning his return back out to the lineup.

Brian Scott

Small (but rarely), yes, but to have any waves you want. Welcome to Nicaragua!!!

Brian Scott

Pump it buddy. . . pump it!!!!

Brian Scott

Setting it up for another nice little turn.

Brian Scott

Good thing he knows this wave, or I might have not had a report for you all today!

Brian Scott

Small waves got you down? Then go UP! Ya, that’s right, there’s always so much to do, like hiking up that big ol’ cliff there, aka Los Perros and beyond you will find yourself immersed in an empty world of tranquility and nothing to view except open waters as far as the eyes can see and a coastline in both direction where you will not see a home for as far as the eyes can see. If you want to really see Nicaragua for what it is, I highly highly recommend taking a boat ride along the coat line sometime (if you’ve never treated yourself to such the delight) To say it’s breathtaking to see such untouched land mass along any coastline would be a complete understatement.
