Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, November 17, 2017

Brian Scott

Hola NSR surf fans. Today we had some mega fun small-to-medium size surf, with some really nice conditions. Check it out!

Brian Scott

We had some pretty good rains last night, so the super clean weather (sunny, cloudless, blue sky’s) were a real treat.

Brian Scott

My new amigo, Marcos visiting from Miami was trying to surf his brains out; being this was his last day here. But rest assured he’ll be back as this is like a second home away from home for him. Good to meet you buddy!

Brian Scott

The water color today looked very similar to some other beach breaks a little further north of here, especially because the rivers were flowing from all the rains.

Brian Scott

But make no mistake, each break in Nica land has it’s own unique style of wave for a reason.

Brian Scott

We’re lucky enough to have adopted the Nicaragua Pipeline as our break here in this area.

I could try and explain how funky, weird, oddly shaped and or just plain strange (in a very good way) the bars are here right now, but this photo should suffice. Walking on water!

Another good example of not only the sand formation, but also good to see how much is going on here in November. Quite the busy little place right now.

Brian Scott

This would be one of the smaller more rippable fun waves from today and yeah, this guy’s ripping!

Brian Scott

There have been many different references made by surfers over the years describing what it feels like to get barreled. One of them is like being in the womb.

Brian Scott

If that’s the case, then this must be an emergency C-section!

Brian Scott

People were literally standing up out of the water on full on sand sand bars watching people getting shacked right in front of them from a small stones throw away.

Or in this case Lesther smashing this lip.

Brian Scott

Junio wasn’t satisfied with the rains last night and wanted just a little more this morning.

Brian Scott

Josh on the flip side was slaughtering the backside waves all morning with waves just like this. His sequences in shots from his wave count today was easily in the double digits.

Brian Scott

Not a bad morning out there eh?

Brian Scott

I met this guy Brooks from St. Augustine, FL today. He was killing the A-frame teepees with his softtop.

Brian Scott

Plenty of waves to go around for everyone.

Brian Scott

When the tide started to fill in a little more over those sand bars, there were these little backwash things happening, kinda like this one.

Brian Scott

Kevin, a local kid from Salinas was here to partake in the fun as well. Nice turn buddy!

Brian Scott

John was even out there slaying a few on his big long board. Check out how far he is up by the nose, whilst in the barrel. You don’t just surf like that overnight.

Brian Scott

What happens when you mix beautiful November weather with some freshly dumped rains with a little fun peaky swell. This!

Thanks for stopping by on this fine Friday. I’ll be on the reporting duty for the weekend, so come on back for some more tomorrow. Hasta Pronto ~
