SUBU!

Hi and welcome to our daily surf report.  This is Roberto “Lucha Libre” Garcia bringing you all the ocurred from one of most popular beaches we have down here in Nicaragua.  Today the waves were small but there were still many fun ones to be had.  It was running about waist to chest high on sets with nice offshore winds and the water was warm and clear.  Check out the lineup!!!

At this point I’ve never thought to have this kind of conditions on October because we usually get lots of rain and onshore winds during the whole month.  We’ve had some rain lately but nothing out of control like years before.  Beautiful shot to start the report for today, uh!!!

There was quite a good crowd in the water today, mostly beginners.  It is nice to see everybody having a blast this time of the year.  On the first surfing shot of the day we have Fillip from France looking good on this little left.

A few girls paddled out to the lineup and were taking some of the better set waves we had.  This is Sara from Puerto Rico riding a nice right.  She wants to say hi to his parents back in PR.

This is Mike working on his backside bottom turn on a nice sizeable left.  The waves were small but really clean, perfect for longboarding and learn how to surf.

Did I say clean waves?  Check out this one coming through with no takers!!!

Now we have Eduardo high lining this little nugget.  This is the first time he visit Nicaragua and he already loves it.  He’s coming back next year for sure!!!

I’ve been trying to get better with the water housing but it is no that easy.  Anyway, I made it out to the lineup for a few minutes and was working with two of the best local surfers.  This is Rex “La Bestia” Calderon with a cool backside move on this left.  He just got back from the Central American Surf Contest in El Salvador.  This year the Nica Team was represented just for 8 of 14 posible surfers making it really hard to get a good position into the Central American ranking.  This year Nicaragua work really hard to make this trip happens because it is tough to find sponsors right now.  Nicaragua got the 4th place overall and now it is getting ready to host this event next year.

On the lat shot of the day we have “La Baloy” Chamorro attacking this little section.  He also was able to represent the Nica Team this year but this time there were better surfers compiting on this event.  We are pretty sure he did the best he could for his country.  Well done guys, hopefully next year we can win this contest becasue we'll be able to have our team in better conditions, taking care of our house.  The waves are supposed to be small for the next few days but I am sure that we are going to have fun so stay tuned with us!!!
