Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, August 16, 2020

Brian Scott

Happy Sunday Funday everyone! And what a Funday of a Sunday it was for sure! We had some really dreamy like weather and lighting out there this morning and as that tide for fuller and fuller it just got better and better. Check it out!

Brian Scott

First wave I saw, but definitely not Haydens first bottom turn out there this morning. This is what you like to see when you walk up to check the surf!

Brian Scott

I’d say maybe it was a tie with the lefts and rights, but you just can’t beat that morning light shining into those right hand tubos! Buzz looking for the honey hole!

Brian Scott

As you can see, still some pretty good size out there again today!

Brian Scott

Emi, taking the high-line and going for the score in the in-zone on this frothy one.

Brian Scott

Hunter on a pretty sick right… however I knew I really needed to be way down the beach to unflatten this 2 dimensional perspective… so I walked.

Brian Scott

And I walked…. and this is what you get when you open up that 3rd dimension of the perspective. Nice eh???

Brian Scott

Here’s Nick-Notch in a pretty much almost perfectly shaped PC cylinder tubo. This is exactly what this place is so well known for.

Brian Scott

Philip taking off on a little mountain, in front of the OTHER mountain.

Brian Scott

Speaking of mountains, it wasn’t death defying or anything out there today but the sets definitely got a few peoples hearts racing again.

Brian Scott

Derek’s as cool and calm as one could be with all that water he’s looking to navigate here the next few seconds. But then again… he’s a master breath work coach and maestro who teaches people how to breath and also keep calm under certain circumstances, like big wave surfing.

Brian Scott

See, those lefts were looking pretty amazing too!

Brian Scott

Plenty of fun for everyone out there today who made the morning surf sesh!

Brian Scott

I like it when we have equally A-framing waves… this doubles the wave’s for everyone out there.

Brian Scott

Kev showing us exactly why he won the SNAPT4 wildcard entry, and just not by votes either (although he’s an incredibly humble and very likable dude) his surfing speaks volumes.

Brian Scott

Tony’s always making friends wherever he goes. Heck even the craziest of bugs, like this praying mantis, like hang out with him! Watch out T, careful she doesn’t try and mate with you and rip off your head! Cause you know…. that’s what lady praying mantis’s do! Jajajaja

Brian Scott

We have one of the best current calls in the world. Just don’t be late for the play!

Brian Scott

And if you time it right, you can even have an encore just to show your follow up to your amazing barrel performance, like Emiliano here.

Brian Scott

How’s your man-fan??? Kai’s is obviously pretty impressive!!!

Brian Scott

Virgil is from Reunion Island, which has very good waves like here. The only thing they have to stress over, besides world wide pandemics and global chaos at the moment is sharks…. a lot of really hungry man eating sharks. So all I’ve got to say is that he doesn’t have to worry about any of those where he’s at right here in this photo.  Glad to have met you today my friend! Enjoy your time here in beautiful Nicaragua.

More of this PLEASE!!!!! YESSSSS…… Let’s see what mother nature serves up for us tomorrow. Have a good rest of the evening amigos! Saludos ~
