Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, June 12, 2021

Hey surf fans friends and fam around the world welcome back to another edition of the NSR surf report. Today I went down to the beach a couple of hours before the low tide and got some shots before the dead low.. the swell is filling in a bit this morning and supposed to build throughout the day so it is setting up to be a super fun weekend here. Let's take a closer look..

Some A-frame waves coming through the lineup, super nice to have a bit more juice for the squeeze today as the last few days have been fun but just not that much force out there.

Kyle is enjoying his time off from fighting wildfires in California and scoring some of the early arrival waves from this swell that is coming. Yeah bro!

I can always count on Fin to be out there shredding the kid is like the energizer bunny!

Another kid I can always count on Koji in the distance smacking the lip.. should prob say young man when I'm talking about these guys though as they are certainly getting to that age where you start driving and thinking more about jobs and all the things that come with adulthood.. hold on to your childhood my dudes!!

Speaking about the pure bliss of childhood look at these brothers right here super stoked everyday these groms are awesome! Looking for some sea creatures in the tide pools today..

SCORE!!! Look at that! Not sure if you can see it all that well but they got a little mini lobster in the glass. Checked in with them later and they had found a handful of those little sea bugs. Looked like some crawdads, couldn't help but think about a crawfish boil being as I was born in New Orleans I was just thinking bout Old Bay, Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Etouffee.

Just a little stall there and you're indatube.

I enjoy riding all shapes and sizes.. of boards. This guy walking like an Egyptian knows what I'm talking about.

Sometimes it's the lonely ones that make your ears perk up and your mouth start to salivate.

Gallo finding some gems this morning as the size starting to notch up a bit.

Grom power stalling for a quick head dip on this one!

Always be mindful of the Current out in the water. Even when it looks calm it can be more dangerous than you think.. this group of peoplethe three there standing in waist high water were enjoying a quick dip splashing around, they ventured north about 15 yards where the sand level dropped a couple feet even though they didn't go any farther out all of a sudden they were in shoulder high water and in the middle of a rip that was just forming. I was keeping an eye on them (as was Oscar the volunteer lifeguard unbeknownst to me) it was clear that they could still just barely touch but they were struggling to get back to the sand. They clearly didn't know anything about getting out of a rip as they just kept trying to go straight to the sand rather than going to one side or another. About 5-10 minutes of seeing that they were still safe but def not able to move anywhere I started worrying.. I was walking over to yell at them to go parallel with the shore to get out of the rip as Oscar came out with his board and got the couple that were getting pulled out to sea and I directed the other girl to come parallel to escape the rip. When she got out of the rip and was good she told me she was getting really tired from fighting the current. I explained to her how to avoid that in the future.. Always be mindful of the Ocean's power even when it looks relatively calm.

Fin needs no help in the water.. as a matter of fact he could prob teach most of the older people a thing or two.

Koji is in that same boat.. as a matter of fact I've seen him giving surf lessons to people double or triple his age..

One of the last shots I took down there today as the tide was beginning to fill in again after the 10am low.. looks like the swell is gonna be arriving throughout the day and it looks like it could be super clean and fun. Grab your board and get out there!! That's what I'm about to do as soon as I press the publish surf report button. Thanks for cruising by and checking us out today. Get down here it looks like the rest of June is going to be sick! Adios amigos until next time take it easy spread love and positive vibes.. Peace
