Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, May 09, 2023

Brian Scott

Welcome back to another day of surfing in the land of waves in Nicaragua. Swell came down to it’s smallest it’s been for over a week now, but the size or I should say more like the perfection of the small size was EPIC for all the groms & micro groms (and some BIG groms too) out there sharing and trading off some precisely shaped 1-3 foot aqua blue cylinder barrels this morning. Enjoy ~

The perfect surf height for the early teen and under age and size out there!

What is it, like $500 a wave at the KS surf ranch… haaaaa! You can come here and it’s free (at least the surfing part). Smile you’re on camera X 2 little dude!

The lineup was chocked full of gremmies, totally dominating the lineup, but today was their day to have all the waves they wanted practically all to themselves.

A few big kids came out to play too and as you can see, small doesn’t necessarily rule out that it’s like “Trix Cereal”, (just for kids), we all love a nice big bowl of that sugary sweet candy flavored treat for breakfast from time to time!

It was like mellow mini Pipe out there…..

….. but bitesize!

You ever been to Krac’a’towüa, it’s just west a Java. Ok I made that spot up, but this kid wasn’t making anything up out there, except for some sick barrel and back hand lip bashing like this all morning.

Aerial game was spot on too!!

Some cool colors and unique surfing being put on display by everyone out there today.

Floaters, very necessary in your repertoire of bag of tricks.

Especially if you want to maki past and over some otherwise undesirable sections that a would normally make the average surfer straighten right out.

And last but not least, dropping the wallet. Yes, I know the term’s probably seen it’s last day a while back already, but it’s still a pretty funny term, who ever made it up!

There’s the Volcom house, the Quik house, Billabong, RUCA, Vissla, shoots it’s sponsor city row all along the 7 mile stretch on the north shore of Oahu. Here we have the NSR Beach house, Casa Almendra, Hacienda Colorados, Casa Colorados, Casa Alta (just to name a few, while about 4 or 5 freshly boughten lots of land and currently newly built homes are being constructed; but no sponsored out names, just Latin American beach front homes where you can sit, much like these peeps post up and watch epic waves all day long. We definitely have our own little mile or 2 of surfing stretch of Latin paradise and if you’ve never been, you should certainly put it on your “To-Do” list!!! Hope to see you down here this season ~
