Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, April 11, 2019

Javier Baldovinos

What's up surfers around the world? I'm Baldo behind the camera from Santana beach. The conditions were not that great this morning, and the swell direction was kind of weird, but as we all know, this is nature and there is nothing better than go with the flow of it.

First peak was actually breaking good comparing it to the rest of the peaks here at Santana, mellow rights and fast, vertical drops on the lefts.

Javier Baldovinos

The tide was dropping fast so there was a lot of water running out through the channel next to the rocks making the rights difficult to ride.

Javier Baldovinos

But there was plenty of room for one or two turns before the rights closed out.

Towards the center of the beach the waves were scattered and messy. Only one little surfer was trying to figure them out.

Javier Baldovinos

At First peak were only 3 surfers, and this guy with the yellow trunks was having a great time.

Javier Baldovinos

Here he goes, attacking the lip with plenty of speed right after a vertical drop.

Little A-frames at Santana... and this is not a good day according to our standards.

Javier Baldovinos

This kid was having serious trouble with the vertical drops at First peak, don't worry buddy, we all have been there and done that!

Javier Baldovinos

According to the forecast (which has been not very accurate the last few days), tomorrow will be a lot better, with no onshore winds and a little bigger.

Javier Baldovinos

For now, it's just better to go fishing or go for a run on the beach or just sweat wherever you are because it's been really hot!
