Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, February 20, 2018

Brian Scott

Hey there folks! Happy Tuesday. Today was a day for looking for something other than surf I think? It must have been about 40-50 mph winds out there at times. Lets go see what all these winds were about.

Brian Scott

Thankfully I talked my friend Eddie into going for a quick surf since I didn’t see anyone the two times I checked it before hand.

Regardless of the cold water and needle piercing spray on your body from the winds, I think it’s safe to say Eddie looked like he was having a pretty fun time out there!

Brian Scott

The waves weren’t even forming very well…. the winds were so strong that they were almost blowing back out to sea!

Brian Scott

I think it looked like a better day to get that new roof top on.

Eddie giving this wave the “O” face!

Brian Scott

It’s a good thing he took out the Tomo today, I’m sure he needed every inch he could have shaved off that nose getting into those waves.

Brian Scott

The biggest group of locals I saw out today. They minds surf these waves better than anyone else I think.

Brian Scott

I guess that’s one way to get barreled.

Brian Scott

Two friends who tried their hand at the Papagayo winds look relieved that session is over.

Brian Scott

Only a couple others that wanted to challenge the mad winds today found a few corners here and there.

Brian Scott

Ahhh a new comer! Bienvenido mi amigo.

Brian Scott

The light was coming and going since there were clouds all over the place being pushed offshore from the winds. This sequence, the sun popped out just in time to snag this nice little gem from this unknown rider. Nice turn Amigo!

Brian Scott

This is my buddy Eddie, he’s got huevos grandes!!

Brian Scott

See… check out that super late drop!!!

Ok, the perfect time to walk the beach is when the winds are strong like it was today, this way it’s not so hot. Thanks for stopping by. Adiós por ahora ~
