Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, February 07, 2020

Brian Scott

Happy Friday folks!! We had some fun waves to help kick off our weekend shenanigans, so jump right in and take a look!

Brian Scott

Made it down for the afternoon session with the tide going out and as you can see here, there were some pretty decent waves on tap.

Esteban (also on the same wave in the previous photo) giving us a nice size reference to the size of swell out there today.

When it’s Friday and you finish all your work for the day…. you don’t walk to play, you RUN!

Brian Scott

And if you’re lucky enough to not have to work at all and you’re on vacation, this is how it should look. Poolside, beverage of choice and relaxing watching the surf.

My buddy Jan is the Man!

Brian Scott

He loves surfing this wave and has been living down here for a really long time. Matter of fact he built his home up high in the bluffs in Rancho Santana back when this place had barely any homes along the entire Emerald Coastline.

This is what a truly nice Panga Drops wave looks like. Buttery glassy and a few feet overhead with light offshores.

And this is a great example of the typical take off under the lip at this wave looks like. Ya the rest of the wave is pretty easy, but if you’ve never had the breaking part of this wave on your back as you’re trying to take off, then you’re not sitting deep enough.

Setting up for some turns.

Brian Scott

Lots and lots of turns. So clean and glassy. Nice one chica!

Esteban going for the big Panga floater which leaves me with my outro! See ya’ll back here again mañana for another day of fun waves. Saludos ~
