Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, January 06, 2012

The winds died down today but there waves are still running pretty small, sick for longboarders.  Plenty of people made it out to the beach today but the lineup was pretty mellow, maybe because the water was a little chilly and the waves small.  Check out the lineup!!!

We would like to say thank you to all our viewers and past guests for helping us give back to the locals here in Nicaragua. In 2010, we collected nearly 1,000 clothing items for the community of La Chureca and we came close to matching that number last year in school supply donations for the Santa Marta elementary school located along the entrance road to Hacienda Iguana. This year, we are happy to announce the 2012 NSR Spanish Book drive for the new library in Limon 2 (for those of you unfamiliar with this community, it is located immediately past Rancho Santana and only about 15-20 minutes from Hacienda Iguana). We have a donation box in our Hacienda Iguana office (books can also be dropped off at our San Juan del Sur location). If looking to give back, please add a book, or 2, or 3 or more to your packing list. Spanish books only please!

The girls have been commanding the lineup the last few days.  Elsy La Guerejita Marin paddled out on her super panga and she rode some sweet ones. Check her out, with a solid ride on her backside.

La Cenicienta Blaylock was also showing us a little bit of her longboard skills.  Here she is working deep on her bottom turn.

Meanwhile on the beach, boys and girls were having a good time, reading a nice book, getting a nice tang or playing some volleyball.  Way to go ladies and gentleman!

Quite a few locals made it out and they also found some nice ones to have fun on their longboards.  Chulin Estrellla, just chilling like Bob dealing on penicillin!

Not many people were riding shortboards today, because it was way more fun to go out on big boards.  This Masequito was the only guy out on his shortboard today, maybe because he only weights 65 pounds.

The fish is getting closer to shore so we are getting ready to go fishing.  All those birds around means that we have ton of baits being chased by big fish.  We are going to get some fish so please check back tomorrow.
