Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, December 02, 2023

Josh S

Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The waves were similar size-wise when compared to yesterday, but the wind was even better today. Perfect for long-boarding.

Josh S

One of the nice features of Panga Drops are its A-frame peaks. Most of the waves that roll through offer up both a right and a left, so that two surfers can split the peak on each wave.

Josh S

There were two peaks today. The standard outside peak with more size, but softer faces, in addition to an inside peak which was smaller, but punchier. This lucky fella even managed to duck into a barrel on the inside peak.

Josh S

Meanwhile out the back… This chica cruising across a solid set for today!

Josh S

I usually don’t enjoy surfing Pangas on a short-board, but I do exempt super glassy days like today from that negative category. When the wave faces are unaffected by wind chop you don’t lose speed while on rail.

Josh S

Talk to the hand!

Here’s one of the cooler waves / sets of the day. Chris Thacker in the background and unknown rider in the foreground got to demonstrate some synchronized surfing.

Josh S

Perfect sync! Nice carves gentlemen.

Josh S

Another lucky shredder finding some shade on the inside peak. This wave was one of the hollower ones I saw this morning. He managed to cleanly squeeze himself all the way in there.

Josh S

Here’s an empty, crispy-clean insider that was open just for you viewer! For me too XD

Josh S

Chris Thacker nabbed another solid set wave. This time surfing forehand.

Josh S

Bam! He did a sharp top-turn wiping off a bunch of his speed from the larger drop. Buckets of spray coming your way those of you out the back!

Josh S

Ooohhh! Chris even managed to tuck in for a second on the end-section of this wave. Don’t leave any chips on the table haha.

Josh S

When you get a good wave at Pangas it will give you plenty of space to operate with on the open wall. This lady seemed to enjoy the spacious face as indicated by her arms spread wide.

Josh S

Kaboom! A nice rock-spray shot to close today’s report. The waves aren’t strong by any stretch, but we can’t complain at all about the conditions the past few days (at least if you have a long-board haha). Hopefully the stretch of favorable / mild wind persists. Thanks for stopping in and see you tomorrow.
