Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, December 03, 2023

Josh S

Hi everyone! Welcome to Sunday’s shred report from Pangas again. The waves were even better today relative to yesterday. To give some context, it was tantalizing enough that I nearly considered whipping out my shortboard today.

Josh S

Grant Gramaglia flying down the line with a sparrow on this racey right. The question remaining is, “Did he pull in?”

Josh S

Pete, the SUP surfer seen here, introduced himself to me today. He’s a nice guy and has been getting some good rides the past few days. The conditions have been near ideal for a SUP the past few days. Light wind, long-rides, and easy paddle outs.

Josh S

I’ve been surprised with the number of chicas out shredding recently. This girl in pink on one of the nicer set waves of the morning. Lucky lucky!

Josh S

Talent in the water and on the beach haha XD

Josh S

The inside peak rights were all the rave today. Shoulder high on the sets and steep enough for quality maneuvers on shortboards.

Josh S

Grant was one with the sparrow today. LOL! This was a super smooth roundhouse! Nice one Grant.

Josh S

Aga paddled out this morning, but Rosco, their dog, tailed her all the way to the waters edge. He follows Aga around like a shadow or a bodyguard haha. Rosco is also one of the friendliest dogs in Iguana, it looks like the little girl here figured that as well.

Josh S

There it was! Barrel of the day with no taker!

Josh S

Pete cruising around the lineup on his Wave Riding Vehicle again. If there was ever a day to give SUP surfing a whirl, it would be today.

Josh S

This intermediate surfer was deliberately working on his body mechanics of his bottom turns today. He did well! Check out his toe-side pressure and trailing arm nearly touching the water surface.

Josh S

Grant peppering the surfers out the back with plenty of spray. Frontside power carves are one of Grant’s specialties.

Josh S

Speaking of a power carve… Mike torquing his way through this left inside section. I like his arm rotation and back foot pressure here.

Josh S

The odd mysto barrel up in the lesson zone haha! Well it was another beautiful day in Iguana with fun little waves. We can’t ask for much more this time of the year! I think the conditions will be similar tomorrow and Tony Z returns to the report tomorrow so stop by to see what he’s got in store for us.
