Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, January 06, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! Welcome to Saturday morning’s surf report from Panga Drops. The waves were really glassy this morning and plenty of surfers out which made for some quality content! Cheehoo!

Josh S

There aren’t any traffic lights at Panga Drops. But by the looks of Roberto’s calm, collected expression here, he doesn’t need any! It would’ve been even better if the wave was hollower and he could’ve got “barreled” underneath the Odyssea foamie haha.

Josh S

There was a wide variety of surfers in the water this morning making lemonade from lemons. Some advanced, like the gentleman captured here, some just breaching into the intermediate category.

I think the lady surfer pictured here might’ve been the little dude paddling out’s mother. Take notes little man! A good mother leads by example.

Lucy needs a little house boat moored just outside of Pangas haha! She has become a permanent fixture in the lineup there.

I feel bad as I’ve forgotten this gentleman from Rancho Santana’s name, but he makes a few regular appearances on the report. I like his choice of attire here. It is nearly the exact same as my coaching outfit (less the booties). Black and grey all the way (for my fellow anarchists). His style is 11/10 here.

Lenny showing his young padawans what it means to “get on rail”!

The infamous instructor - student stare down. Who blinked? The world may never know…

Rob and Lenny demonstrated their excellent maneuvering today. Tomorrow we’ll have to up the ante and see if they can each dodge two boards per wave.

Josh S

A cruisey cutback from Mr. Roberto. He looks a little gassed here haha. Maybe he depleted all his energy earlier in the session dodging foamies haha.

Katrin ready to attack the corner of this right. Crouching tiger, hidden dragon.

Josh S

Ah yes, the highly coveted “never ending” French Fries right-gutter peeler. French fries’ sandbar runs into the deep water inside of Pangas main peak making for some ridiculously long-rides when it’s working.

Josh S

Where were my beginner students weaving through this Villas Iguanas barrel? HAHA. Well that wraps up a pretty entertaining Saturday shred-fest from Pangas. Tomorrow the wind is forecasted to be ripping really hard, so I don’t know if it will surpass the bar set by today’s report. But who knows? Anyways, enjoy the weekend y’all and catch you tomorrow.
