Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, December 12, 2022

Brian Scott

Happy Monday and almost mid December to all you dedicated NSR people out there! Brian back after an extended little time off to take care of some other stuff, and BIG Thanks to Daniel for always helping out with the coverage. I know the surf’s been small and less appealing to see, BUT where there’s waves (be it 1-3 feet or not), AND it’s tropical, t’s still alway nice to slither away for a cyber get-a-way day to day…. so let’s peep in on how todays surf looked shall we.

December always reminds me of how we’re always just right around the corner of turning over a new year, a new chapter and ironically it’s funny how it also happens to be when we have our smaller of surf of the year. Thus it’s like being a new surfer each time this time of the year. We’ve all had to learn to walk before we could run in this incredible special thing we all hold near and dear to our hearts, called “surfing”.

Here’s what it looks like once you’ve put in all those years of surfing session after session, practicing & practicing over and over again. This is the fun part. . . . being able to finally RUN after you’ve mastered the walking part!

Todays lat(er) afternoon session was actually pretty fun out there as the tide got fuller and fuller.

Brian Scott

A little more water brought in more swell energy (just enough more) to do maneuvers like this!

Jett on the other side taking off on a nice walled up section that looked like it was going to give him a lot of room for a lot of creative surfing.

Brian Scott

All kinds of little sections for turns, pumping down the line, or wrapping back around keeping up with that main source of energy, right where the white water has that sweet spot . . .

Brian Scott

Jett, learning quickly on the daily how to navigate and utilize each and every wave he catches energy source and how to surf it properly!

Brian Scott

Empty nice little right. Looks pretty fun to me!

The down time, aka slow season is always a nice time to look back and recount all the good things recent but past season has or had given us; and looking to the future of what next season will offer up. If you’ve ever wanted to try this place out, I think you should throw that well deserved surf trip on your Christmas list now! It’s never too late! SBS is out, but I am back. . . C ya mañana ~
