Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, October 02, 2009

Hi folks, we’ve got Miguel bringing you all the action for the Friday surf report.  The waves have picked up a bit from yesterday and are pretty big at times.  It's running overhead to sometimes double-O on sets with light offshores and warm waters.  Overall it was bigger than yesterday but not quite as good form.  The bigger waves made for some strong currents but when the right ones came in, man, they were really nice.  Again, the line-up was nice and empty.

We had many sick waves to be had all day long.  This is Gorgeous George who undoubtedly checked out NSR yesterday and decided to come get some of this for himself.  Lookin' good Georgie!

Here we have an unknown rider with a late but cool take off on this right.  Do you think he made it?  Not quite.  The waves were bigger and harder to catch than yesterday making for lots of late take-offs.  Good when you make them, beatings when you don't.  What do you say pale rider?

This is Kevin from New Jersey about to get totally covered on this left.  When I say totally covered I mean he got really pounded!  He was charging though and that's what we like to see!  Nice stuff Kevin!

This is Steve from Fl enjoying the nice view from way inside of this right.  The FL guys are always getting the best barrels.  This guy had a couple of good ones out there today.  Notice how the lip line is more wobbley than yesterday and you'll get an idea of how things were today.  Definitely really fun, but definitely not perfect!

Like I said, when the good ones came in they were SICK!  This wave opened up round and this guy took advantage of it.  That’s a keeper dude, please let us know if you want to get a few sick photos.

Usually we don't get a lot of bottom turn shots at this spot - you set your rail and hit the gas.  This guy was digging some deep bottom turns on some sizeable waves and making it look easy.  Check him out doing his best Tom Curren on this nice right-hander.

This is Jeremy from Australia looking what a perfect wave he caught.  Come on pal, you gotta pull into that thing!

Yeah, you know Brodie came out again today.  Here he is trying to stall for the backside barrel.

I think we are still going to have fun waves and good conditions out here tomorrow.  You are loving it if you're in Nicaragua right now!  Check you later!
