Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, October 01, 2006

Welcome to the Sunday surf report for the first day of October here in SJDS Nicaragua. Actually, the waves are small today so after a generous invite from our friends on the "Showtime", we had the choice to go grovel or go fishing. Hmmm, decisions, decisions...

We left port in the morning, hangovers and all, and headed south to the fertile fishing grounds off of Costa Rica. It wasn't long until Paluca pulled in this little Dorado and then gave him a big kiss. (yes, for those of you wondering, he was still drunk)

10 minutes later and the fish is cleaned, cut and served up sashimi style. Not a bad mid-day appetizer (Now if we could only get this guy to stop getting in all the pictures!)

On the way back to San Juan, we hooked up a couple of more. This is Hugo, fighting a big Roosterfish - unfortunately to no avail. Maybe next time.

I got lucky and was able to bring in this one - a nice 25/30 lb'er that put up one hell of a fight.

Yeah, can't really complain about today. We'll be back looking for waves tomorrow so check back.
