Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, August 23, 2020

Brian Scott

Bienvenido amigos! Just another stormy day here in Nicaragua…. however, today’s stormy weather was met pound for pound with equal or if not more energy than this offshore! Come and see..!

Brian Scott

Checking the surf multiple times a day, especially when the weather sucks comes with the territory when it comes to surfing. Luckily Emiliano was already down there and ready to jump in when I went for my last surf check for the day.

Brian Scott

Here’s a better, more pulled back view of what we had to deal with today.

Brian Scott

See Emi doesn’t hold back when it comes to “getting wet”.

Brian Scott

Onshore slop is no match for his acquired taste for ripping.

Brian Scott

Frontside or backside, he’s an animal!

Brian Scott

There’s nothing better than having the entire beach to yourself either.

Brian Scott

Ohhhh…. but then there were two.  Derek with his eye’s on some mediocre surprises.

Brian Scott

If anyone can and will find a cover up in some of the worst conditions… it’d be this guy!

Brian Scott

Although he opted for the micro stubby board today out there, that didn’t hinder his performance, as you can see.

Brian Scott

If you’ve seen the last few days of reports, you would have noticed that the onshore dysfunctional chaos proved much better for the reluctant windy, or should I say, reverse windy guys preference. Looks like Dario is giving it another go today.

Brian Scott

Heading out to sea…. way beyond any other paddler’s capability. Thanks to my lens’s compression and very long distance focal range, Dario looks to be a little ways out at sea, but in reality, he’s gotta be at least a good mile out in the open ocean… maybe even further.

Brian Scott

And then the younger talent decided to participate as well.

Brian Scott

Erin makes this stuff look like a QS event, heck even a CT gathering pre-COVID days.

Brian Scott

Talent is talent. The surfing will always speak for itself.

Brian Scott

As always implied and I cannot stress it enough, style will always be the one thing that separates the chihuahua’s from the big dogs!

Brian Scott

Luckily Erin’s little traveling amigo and equally prodigal son, Jackson making his way out too…. be it all smiles and total stoke! No matter the surf conditions.

Brian Scott

Go ahead and just study this photo a good long minute. Yeahhhhh, exactly!

Brian Scott

Pretty ironic that that catch slogan from Billabong created many years ago said “Life’s better in board shorts”. Well, we welcome all participants adorning thus such loin of the surf.

Brian Scott

Age has never even been a question. Actually the younger and the harder they rip, the better!

Brian Scott

I’m hoping, she’s hoping, heck everyone’s hoping to see these winds go in reverse soon. Imagine what’s in store if they do????

Brian Scott

Onshore (or offshore for that matter) and completing air’s is always going to be the determining factor in any surfing skillset from here on out.

Brian Scott

How you compose yourself in doing so early on in your surfing career will be the magical factor in titles, paychecks and all around feeling current with todays and futuristic surfing standards.

Brian Scott

Don’t worry…. there’s a whole new generation pushing the limits with these tools too…. and in unimaginable really freaking scary waves too!

Brian Scott

Gonna leave you amazing people with this quick little 3 snap perfect turn by this little lady on this uniquely sublime Sunday Funday!

Brian Scott

Ooooooof……

Brian Scott

It doesn’t get much prettier than that!!!!

Brian Scott

And before that storm came in without a minute short left to showcase you anymore… I was out! Thanks for ending out your weekend with us! Here’s to a good week ahead ~
