Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, August 08, 2013

Buenos tardes! This is Alex giving you this morning's surf report. The swell has remained on the small side today, the skies are a grey haze, and the winds started to blow side shore. All and all, pretty meager conditions, but on the bright side the crowds have declined with the swell, and there are plenty of fun ones coming through. Check it...

The surf photos taken today are by both Lucha Libre and myself, and later lifestyle shots by Brian and Natalie. Lucha says "mother nature loves me," and I can't deny this claim when he always gets back from the beach with shots like this. A lucky surfer scoring a sick left.

Some guys were surfing at the very south end of the beach, so I walked down to capture the action. This rider got a nice top turn.

While making my way down the beach, I found a little right drainer with nobody on the peak!

There was also a guy who made a brief attempt to catch some fish. You might have some better luck on one of NSR's fishing trips!

In addition to fishing trips, NSR provides horseback riding services. Its hard to not smile when traveling on a beautiful beach by horseback!

On days like today, the winds can oscillate from offshore to side shore and anywhere in between. Check out this surfer getting a clean face with the side-off breeze.

Another photo by the magic man capturing this guy pig dogging it on a sweet one! Nice one amigo!

Another nice left, but I don't have that magic touch, so the wind decided to switch side shore.

Unknown rider got distracted by that other kind of Nicaraguan scenery.

With the small swell it is never a bad time to break out the long board. This guy is relaxing the right (or left) way.

Down the beach the waves still had plenty of power for this ripper to bury his rail into a sweet little corner.

Looks like the winds almost got a little side shore for Lucha, but the face was still clean, and this shredder put down a hack that was mean. Nice one!

That's all the surf action from this morning. Be sure to check the report tomorrow for another day in paradise!

NSR's second year intern is heading home tonight. The Playa Colorado community came out to send him off last night at the brand new beach front pool bar. From left to right we have Mel, Simon "master concierge" de la Salsa, and Brian. Looks like Mel is having a great time!

Our Kiwi couple Zach and Kimmy also came out to celebrate. Enjoying the Tona Zach?

Shouts out to Brian and Natalie of Nicaragua Surf Shots and thanks for the photo contribution and good vibes.

The bar got a little busier as the night progressed with the guys enjoying the scene.

Big thanks to DJ El Codo who was killing it with the beats and dub flavor. Thanks for tuning in. Check back with us tomorrow.
