Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Hi folks. This is Jairo “Come Pan” Panic and Mateo “Guineo” welcoming you to the Wednesday surf report. We headed out to the beach hoping the waves were going to be like yesterday, but when we got there, we were slightly disappointed because the waves seemed like they dropped off a lot. We went out anyways and got a bunch of fun waves. Check it out!

“Guineo” had a few friends from Florida come and visit him. This is Dale “Encandilito” who was an Olympic hopeful, but he missed qualifying for the breast stroke by a few tenths of a second. Instead he figured he would come down here and enjoy the surf.

The next visitor from Florida is Dan “Boy George” Cooley. Back home for fun he likes to wrestle sharks, but for this week he thought he would wrestle some waves.

This is Steven “El Pegador de Conejos” with a nice back side slash. He wanted everyone to know that his favorite animals are bats and bunnies. Well, we hope you guys enjoy your week down here.

The best wave of the day goes to Armando “Codo” Lopez with a nice barreling left. He was waiting on the outside for the biggest set waves and it paid off because he got about six waves just like this.

We had some “His and His Yoga Classes” on the beach today. There nothing like getting a solid stretch in before a surf with your significant other.

This is the beach Cuidador who was regulating all the action on the beach today. Unfortunately he wasn’t too pleased about the yoga classes so he had to break them up with his machete.

We also had Oliver “El Mono” go out there and do some surf lessons, through the NSR surf school, with a brother and sister from California. Here he is helping his them with their “pop up” skills.

Here is Skye Bruce on a nice looking wave. It was pretty cool watching them improve their surf skills in just the few hours we were out there.

Here is her brother, Chance Bruce, taking off a good sized right. These kids were charging hard because they were taking off on a lot big sets like this.

Here is a group shot of the class today. It was really nice meeting you guys and we hope to see you again soon. Keep surfing in California!

For the last shot of the day we are going to leave you with this wedgy left. We had a lot of fun today and we are hoping tomorrow is even better. Check back, Paz!
