Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, July 29, 2017

Brian Scott

Hey NSR Saturday Surf Fans! Welcome back for part deux of this weekends incredible surf marathon. I say incredible surf marathon because it feels like it’s been just that! Busy, busy, busy shooting and so many fun waves out there to be had. Check it out!!

Brian Scott

Got down to the beach plenty early this morning as we were all anticipating some much bigger and better surf.

Brian Scott

Mother ocean definitely delivered some goodies for us today!

Brian Scott

There was some ripping all up and down the beach today.

Brian Scott

 From any angle you looked!

They even had the Sand Bar Crew out in full force today. This river mouth has not been very cooperative this season, so the higher ups have been helping out with getting the sand that keeps moving back into place to block off the water flow quite a bit. I hope all that sand once again creates a few more defined peaks for the new(er) swell that’s coming in for tomorrow!

Brian Scott

A-Frames are what this place needs and what help make this place world class when it’s on.

Brian Scott

There were many barrels, deep ones, but it was a little stretched out so not everyone was making all of them. So there was a lot of creative surfing going on as well.

With heavy water moving around with bigger swell usually at any beach break, you’ll usually find yourself some pretty crazy rips. Here my buddy Jhaura helps to bring in an exhausted swimmer after finding out that the rip he was in proved too much after trying to fight it trying to come in. Just remember people, as a good rule of thumb is to swim parallel to the beach out and away from the rip you’re caught in. Be safe amigos!

Still fascinated with how well this guy did out there with this 100lb beast. I would be stoked to see how that shot came out… (see next slide)

Brian Scott

This is who he was aiming at. Bet it was an amazing shot/or clip if he pulled it off!

Brian Scott

This guys wave is bringing back the flock of seagulls in every way possible!

Brian Scott

and this is what we refer to as our version of the 405. Kinda scary!

Brian Scott

O U T S I D E.. !!! Nothing more fun or intense to watch than when everyone on the beach starts whistling and hooting when they see this before the surfers in the lineup do; and once they hear or see, it becomes a battle scramble. Sometimes for priority, sometimes for survival mode.

Brian Scott

This ain’t no snowball… this is a freaking avalanche in July!! (btw - for the record, this guys made it around that mountain hazard and actually pulled in just in time and made that barrel). Pretty impressive surfing amigo!

Brian Scott

I rolled up to the beach a little later today to see if the waves would be improving, getting bigger, shoots, it even started to look like it was gonna rain.

Brian Scott

Needless to say, it was still ON! and believe it or not, this is the same guy, same wave - about 100 yards down the line!

Brian Scott

With all that paddling everyone was doing all day catching some bombs out there, it’s always good to stretch and expand your limbs.

Brian Scott

Definitely a beautiful day today was.

Brian Scott

Even our “little” mini outer reef was producing some nice clean lines up there.

Brian Scott

Josh Springfield is back with his Family and can you tell that he’s stoked to be back in his happy place! If you look really really close you can see his grin right through the lip there.

Brian Scott

Rutciel was going on so many waves today and paying her dues out there. So I had to give her a little prize photo on todays report for all of her hard charging efforts. Go RUTCIE!

Brian Scott

Just another day in paradise with 5 star quality waves. Picture perfect waves!

Brian Scott

Swell’s still supposed to be building and peaking late tomorrow, so check back in and see what I get, and until then thanks for stopping by to checkout what we were blessed with today! Sleep well and I’ll see ya’ll back here en la mañana! Buenas Noches ~
