Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, July 17, 2005

This is a 4 day weekend here in Nicaragua. Tuesday, June 19th, it the anniversary of the revolution and everybody has the day off. Unofficially, that also means Monday. Anyway, the town is hopping and there are people everywhere. We checked out head high swell and offshore winds until 4pm at Maderas today. Here is a shot from the beach.

How do all those people get to Maderas? Check out Brent driving the Arena Caliente truck. What a great way to make new friends and get to the beach at the same time. The unofficial record is 19 people and 12 surfboards, so today was a light day.

The lineup was dominated by the locals today. Here is Danilo finishing off a nice one.

Wait a minute, is that Kervin on a surfboard? We can't believe it. Kervin, trade in the boogie my friend, you can surf!
