Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, June 28, 2017

What’s going on everybody?! This is Hotstick Hannahs logging in for the surf report for Southern Nicaragua. The morning session was fun so check it out!

Today is the last of our down days before something juicy fills in tonight. Though the ocean was mellow, you could pick off head high sets.

Some of the waves featured a nice tubito; however, they weren’t throwing really hard or very open. Regardless, we always have fun waves (especially for a rest day!).

And if the waves aren’t fun, find a friend to mix it up and make it fun! Maycol was shoulder hopping while Jayson was laying down spray. Dale Maycol!!!

Well, Maycol laid down some tracks of his own. This guy started surfing about a year ago and he is already showing off solid cutbacks. All eyes on this hombrecito for how much he's been progressing. Because the waves are so consisent here, surfing down here is like dog years.

Do you know what else is consistent? Reaping the consequences to your actions!!! Now we have Jayson in front of Maycol.

Jayson is a new young grom who just picked up a board a few months ago. His style, tricks, and commitment rival other locals who have been surfing years. Bright things are in this muchacho’s future.

He loves those rights that slip in… If you like barreling rights, Playa Colorado is the beach break for you. If you like staying at top quality accommodations and receiving stellar service, you should check out our vacation rentals.

Bring the whole family too! Ava needs another playmate to build sandcastles and Todd needs a surf buddy (but not too many surf buddies).

My buddy JD Hollingsworth brought a crew from Jacksonville Florida and they are loving Casa Blanca. I’ve been visiting those guys strictly during meals times so I can enjoy some of Heyzel’s delicious cooking. Guys, I’ve had a busy day at work so I hope you save me a plate for dinner!!!

A couple barrels slipped through this morning but only on the set waves. Have you seen the weekend forecast?!? Swell is on the way!!

I’m a little anxious on the degree. Where Nicaragua is positioned, some of the swell could be absorbed by some islands. However, if it’s good swell, that could break up the interval and make the beach breaks really fun. And if it doesn’t, some reefs and points will light up! As always, we shall wait and see what actually happens…

And if the reefs/points get fun, you can plan on showing off some more turns! Or, have patience at the beachies and wait for the gems.

Did somebody say gems?! On the southern end of the beach, the lefts were already starting to come through. I hope you like going left this weekend!!

It may not be a bad idea to reach out to us at [email protected] to reserve your photographer. They will get booked quickly and I think you’re going to want that shot of you on/in/above an overhead wave…

Until then, we are patiently waiting for this groundswell to fill in. We will see what happens so stay tuned for daily action on our surf report. Thank you all for checking out today’s shots and have a good rest of the week! Adios amigos!
