Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Well, we were expecting the beginning of a new swell, but what we found was far from it. Although we did have offshore wind! We went out there anyways and had a good time. It was about waist to chest high and the water felt delightful.

We had some religious fanatics out in the water doing their thing this morning. Everyone seemed to be praisin’ Jesus!

“Can I get a witness!?”

This guy gets the award for most passion and soul. With the lean back cutback! This move is super hard to complete without falling, this guy found that out the hard way!

Here is an epic shot of a guy with the double hand praise barrel ride! This was a pretty rare sight to see, not that many waves were barreling.

Even though Riley was surfing alone he wasn’t scared to jump into the craze! Here he is with a hands up cutback! See you in the water tomorrow!

Pancho wasn’t really feelin’ the praise hand flail thing, but he could do a solid backside cutback! I saw one of the church people cry…

Matt from Chicago was out there learning to surf with NSR surf school. He killed it and by the end of the day he was tearing it up with the pledges on the outside! As you can see we teach our students not to flail their arms when the catch a wave. Great job Matt!

Here’s an artsy shot Mateo took trying to emulate Jeremiah’s skill. He never really gets it right, good try though. Tomorrow should be fun and the swell should be building! We are gonna be drinking sweet tea and catching some sweet waves!
