Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, May 31, 2008

Hey folks this is Roberto “Lucha Libre” and Mateo “Pledge” with the Saturday report. Sometimes when you leave for the beach the wind is offshore, and when you get there it is offshore as well. Today was not that day. We were stoked this morning when we left for the beach because the wind was offshore, but when we got there the wind had switched.  The waves were about waist to shoulder high on sets, with onshore wind, and warm water. We decided to go out there and make the best of it anyways. Check it out!

Gerardo “El Mope” Miranda was out there making the best of what he had to work with. Here he is bottom turning on a fun looking right. “El Mope” wanted to take advantage of the extra time he has to train for the contest at Santana so he went out there without a leash.

His girlfriend, Katrina “La Mopita”, was also training for the contest, but she decided to go with the leash for today.  Look out girls “La Mopita” could be a force to be reckoned with!

English-Larry “Carita de Venado” Davila shown here doing an off the top to floater maneuver.  It was interesting because right as he paddled out everyone went in. I think they were scared of his deer face…. We are just kidding buddy!!!

Espanol-Larry "Carita de Venado" Dávila se muestra aquí haciendo un flote en la parte superior de afuera. Fue interesante porque tan pronto como él nado afuera todos fueron salieron del agua creo que tenían miedo de su cara de venado. Estamos solo bromeando amigo!

Rex “La Bestia” Calderon was still getting those fins out the back even in the chop.  “La Bestia” is always going for it because he wants to maintain his #1 ranking in Central America.

Alright for the last shot of the day we have our friend Rosalinda “La Gatita” taking a little stroll across the beach just trying to distract the surfers. Well hopefully we catch the offshore wind tomorrow. Dale Pues!
