Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, May 24, 2020

Brian Scott

Happy Sunday Funday amigos!!! Well, today was another day of unfavorable winds. However, although I couldn’t make the super early AM glassy session, I was rolling the dice on the afternoon session. Well, the winds were still poo poo, but the size was for sure much better. Now we just need some surfers!

Brian Scott

Lucky for me there were a couple out. Here’s one of them. Mr. Grant, making a sick little turn right to the inside.

Brian Scott

See, I wasn’t kidding there were some decent sets. Too bad this thing didn’t open up for Robin and let him drive down the line on this bigger high tide backwash looking gurgler.

Brian Scott

Two men leaveth, one man cometh!

Brian Scott

Little big man Kai with his best “Watcha talkin’ about Willis face”!!!! Spot on if you ask me.

Brian Scott

Being that it’s pretty mellow with the surf right now, Ty opted for the shorty fish soft top.

Brian Scott

Make no mistake, I have one of these boards too and and as fun as they may look, they’re super freaking hard to surf on. Ty going for the giant floater! At least you have a Soft “Top” landing buddy! Jajaja

Brian Scott

Kenny Loggins…. errrr naaaaa. Maybe better Kenny “Logger” Rogers. Ok, I was trying to find a fun cool name for my amigo Kenny who was actually out there ripping these fun waves at the reef.

Brian Scott

All nicknames aside, he wasn’t kidding around when he was looking for a barrel out there!

Brian Scott

Yaaaa Papa Nam, just finishing up work and ready for some salty waves!!

Brian Scott

He’s not wasting any time. Jump in and wash off all your land stress hermano!!

Brian Scott

Ahhhh the best baptism of all religions.

Brian Scott

I’m not sure if Grants even a religious man, but….

Brian Scott

His bottom turns make me feel spiritual.  :)

Brian Scott

His turns even make me see the holy ghost! Sick style…. almost skate-esque feeling brother!

Brian Scott

Referring to skate moves, check out Ty’s sick kick-flip he just about made with that high tide bounce back.

Brian Scott

Ohhhhhhhh speaking of skating…… well, what do we have HERE you might ask?????????? I was rushing to get over to link up with a few of my buddies tonight who were doing their thing (their thing refers to what they like to do when the surf’s flat, onshore, or just not that good around these parts - they like to take to the pavement and grind out some sick skate park sessions, one of the most influential things to modern surfing), Hope you ENJOY!!

Here’s one of the three amigos, Jose Andres killing it with a frontside nose-slide, on the homemade BOX.

Brian Scott

Devon, another good friend of mine who you will usually see on most of the surf reports, getting his Back K-grind on well after the sun quit working for the waves.

Brian Scott

Actually Devon (previous photo) and Mr. Dario here are two of the dedicated hombres that helped create this little special concrete park for all to come and share and enjoy. How sick in Darios Back-smith Grind on this one with lens flare?!?!?

Brian Scott

Jose Andres is actually one Rivas’s most prolific skaters, here. Tonight was my first time shooting with him, but after seeing moves like this fakie front big spin, I am amping until the next time we get to link up and shoot again!

Brian Scott

Dario going with a HUGE Boneless grab!!!! And Yup he stuck it too!!

Brian Scott

Damn Devon, I didn’t even know you had such steeze and flare with your skating. Sick heel flip!

Brian Scott

I wish there were a way to give you guys a perspective of how incredibly hot it is here at the school skate park. These guys were skating for a couple of hours before I showed up. I literally busted out my gear and shot for just barely 30 min’s and I was drenched in sweat.

Check out all the sweet beads coming off of Devon…. This sh!t beats Hot Yoga anytime!! Haha

Brian Scott

Jose Andres, practicing Safe Skating with his face mask on this super sick feeble fakie.
