Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, March 27, 2023

Brian Scott

Whoop Whoop!!!! Happy Monday folks. Small waves days, at least for the first half of the week. But we should start to see some of that new swell coming in hopefully with some front runners by Wed. Today’s conditions were a bit semi-strong offshore, with a good amount of people out as the tide was draining out at around medium tide. Come on in and enjoy your Monday surf report!

Josh starting the week and todays report off wit this far outside NUG! He was on the good ol’ softy, but catching about 3 or 4 waves to everyone else's one.

The water color today was super green and out the back if you can see was a deep deep dark blue and you can see the whitecaps were already starting to blow!

Longboards are almost the preferred board out at Pangas, but it’s also a lot of board (foam) to hang onto when those deviously sneaky outside sets always catch everyone off guard. This dude was killing it on that big old panga!

Dino (here) and his pops just got in late last night and they’re here until next week. . . so they’re going to be really enjoying this upcoming swell that should last throughout the weekend. I was talking with Dino prior to him paddling out and he said he has been looking at every video, NSR surf report and anything else he could get a glimpse of and has been drooling for this trip for months now. Well, Bienvenido hermano! You’ll be getting some barrels in the upcoming days!

Brian Scott

In the meantime, he’s just warming up, getting acclimated to our Central American waves and climate. Looks like he’s adapting very quickly!

Brian Scott

Empty right that nobody wanted? OR probably was out of position to catch, unfortunately.

Brian Scott

WHAAAAAAAT!!! Putting in a lot of time, perfecting his Spanish to “Pro” level, Big Scott busting airs out there now. Now I know Jennie & Kev’s really rubbing off on you buddy!!  Jajajaja

The light this morning was super crispy and perfect, much like Dinos backside attack on this left!

The peaks were a plenty all up and down the sand and rock reefs, which span a good 200-300 yard area of coverage for take off spots at the Drops. This peak was about as far north as you can go before you hit the close out section in front of Villa Iguanas. Nice little off the lipper dude!

Brian Scott

A lot of people here, hopefully staying long enough to catch this coming swell.

Brian Scott

Josh is so amped, he was even pulling into anything that looked remotely possible of a cover up, even on the soft top.

Brian Scott

Backside off the top re-entry. On a Softy, No es un problema para el señior Josh!

Shaka’s and noting but sun soaked stoke after todays midmorning session. Let’s see how things pan out for tomorrow. Hope to see ya out there! Yewwww ~
