Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, February 01, 2023

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone! remember me? This is Baldo covering Mr. Brian Scott with today's surf report. As a normal February day, the waves were pretty small combined with strong winds, but thank Neptune we still have Panga Drops to keep us entertain.

At first look Panga was horrible, throwing these weird, messy looking waves with only two guys in the water floating around.

After a while of waiting, the set decided to show up throwing a nice left with a good wall.

You could tell this wave was exactly what the guy was waiting for so long, he went all in on that first turn off the lip, almost vertical and leaving a great spray behind him.

The next set didn't take long to appear, this time opening really good to the right, and this guy killed it from the beginning.

He started with a big wide turn at full speed, utilizing the double up section to throw a big spray.

For the second maneuver he went full vertical on the lip. When you connect with that double up here at Pangas, the waves turn into a super fun wall.

Finishing with another great turn over the closing foam... this guy was stoked (or is it psyched now?), I heard his celebration right before he jumped off his board.

The other guy took the next one of the set, but it turned out to be the normal soft and slow wave we all expect to see at Panga Drops.

On his way back to the lineup, the first guy got surprised by an inside wedge that jacked up to form a hollow section right in front of him.

After that last set they paddled in, but they didn't look so convinced about leaving, they stayed a few minutes sharing and commenting their last rides, while waiting to see if the next set was good enough to paddle back out. I think they went to check out Colorado.
