Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, December 31, 2023

Josh S

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! Here’s Sunday’s surf report from (primarily) Villas Iguanas. I guess everyone was surfed out at Pangas from the morning session so I shifted North to capture some surf action.

On the way to Villas Iguanas a perfect, but tiny, right peelers reeled through at French Fries. Maybe a little kid could’ve got shacked here?

Party wave! The beginners were having a blast today. The little looks like he could be experiencing a nose dive soon though!

The classic “bow and arrow” posture that is taught to beginners. It may seem cliche, but comes in handy as they progress to turning!

Apparently this scene is part of a Nicaraguan tradition when transitioning to the New Year. I think these fellas got their dates mixed up and partied last night instead of tonight!

My brother John, and I have been flat out busy with surf lessons this festive season! It’s really rewarding to help newbies succeed in perfect off-season conditions! If you’re interested in scheduling some lessons, you can contact Jose from NSR or me on Whatsapp +505 8209 3100 That being said we are pretty close to fully booked for the next few days!

Leggings and a long-sleeve rashie are a simple and effective way of mitigating the blazing mid-day sun. If you need to improve your beach wardrobe, then stop by NSR surf shop and see what options are available!

Gliding into perfect little green waves with your friends is an epic way to end 2023.

Woahooah! Already learning to cross-step so soon?! And in a professional jersey haha. Wiping out is half of the fun :)

I sense some cold Toñas and music beckoning me! I hope you guys had a great 2023 and I’ll see you in 2024 tomorrow with the surf action. Party on!
