Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, July 22, 2023

Josh S

Hey viewers, I hope you’re doing well! Welcome to Saturday’s Surf Report from Playa Colorado.

Josh S

Nick Bonis was the winner of today’s heat! He pulled into and made a couple of nice rights while I was shooting. He had a wave magnet on him today.

Josh S

Scott decided to cool down and get wet in the smaller surf. I saw him swim out with some flippers. If it’s too small to get barreled surfing, then you gotta bodysurf to find some tube-time haha!

Josh S

This little guy might’ve been too heavily inspired by Scott! (Lining up the wipeout to bodysurf combo) Don’t forget your board amigo!

Josh S

It was really hot and humid outside today. I had multiple moments throughout the day where I felt like I could’ve gone horizontal like this guy here.

Josh S

Nick stalling behind the curtain on another one of the (rare) better set waves that rolled through.

Josh S

I like this guy’s idea! Team Wavestorm! It just makes the small days so much more engaging and doubles your wave count! I wonder if the shrimp boat in the background was raking in tons of camarones?

A goofy-foot rider folding up in hopes of tucking into some shade at the North peak.

Josh S

The Wavestorm guy was packing some bombs when they came through. He did well to thread some steep drops without catching his nose or rails.

Josh S

I like his style here! Close to touching the wave-face with his trailing hand with his eyes locked down the line.

Josh S

Colin swapped boards with the dude and got some nice lefts as well. Colin is living up to his signature standard here, riding leash-less!

Josh S

To close out today’s report we have a sick grab rail boost from one of the young rippers here who’s likely suffering from tube withdrawals! Oh well, at least these young dudes can take flight when the surf is a bit marginal :)

Josh S

Thanks for tuning in for today’s surf report amigos! There were still a couple of tubes out there today, but looks like it could be fairly small the next few days. Tony Z will be back behind the lens with tomorrow’s action.
