Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, March 13, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! Josh back behind the lens for the next few days. Well the swell filled in even more today and everyone’s favorite beach break showed some signs of life this evening. Dr. Steve with the opening frame.

The water has been cool to cold lately, so John opted for the comfort of his full suit. A nice small top turn click here.

The photos make the waves look better than they were this evening, but I will say that the wind was genuinely not so bad. It was fairly clean out there.

Bertie honing his pig-dog form before surf season kicks into true-er form.

An unknown rider setting up for a beautiful open left face. It took patience out there, but if you sat tight and found the corners then it was worth it.

John was on fire today. I can’t touch his rail game. I gave him a run for his money size-wise in the after hours session though on the “Forbidden Trump Card” known as the 9ft Wavestorm haha.

Koji-san paddled out for a few quick waves before the cold water set in and got the best of him. He got 5 turns on this left though.

Koji does an excellent job of surfing light on his feet while still engaging just the right amount of rail. It’s a delicate balance.

John cleaning the foam and froth off this soupy insider. He had the power with him today. Look at how much torque he summoned through his carves today.

If I had to make an analogy of today’s conditions at Colorados: It’s like when you are starting a bon-fire and the spark just barely begins to catch on the small sticks and leaves creating a brief flicker of a flame. If I had to speculate then we will have some fun waves at Colorados tomorrow, but it will probably go dormant again for a few days afterward as the size decays. Hasta mañana para mas!
